Not feeling well

So I didn't feel very well yesterday, stomach ache, headache, lower GI stuff.. Just a little bug, I'm sure. Anyway, with that, I lost my appetite and just couldn't eat my 1200 calories.. I think I was under by a few hundred or so. Anyway, I heard of zig-zag dieting and wondered if I'd be better off either:

1) Just calling it a bad day and forget about it.
2) Try to fit in the extra calories the rest of this week.

I would just call it a day. Your body won't think famine until it has a few days of repeated under-fueling. Just get on the horse and ride. Stop for a water break and listen to your body. If you are feeling famished, then worry about maybe adding a SMALL snack in to help compensate for yesterday, but no need to try to fit all the calories back in, just let your body know you are here for it today!

Personally, I'd just forget it too. I don't think most people would make their calories on a day they are not feelng well.

I was sick with the flu last week and I just let it run its course and didn't worry about my calories since I knew I wasn't ingesting much. Get better and then start over when you feel back to normal. Your body will take what it needs from you so trust what it wants and concentrate on feeling better. Once its passed come back !

    Feel better soon :flowerforyou:

Call it a day and start over when you are feeling up to it. When I'm sick I always remember the adage my Magra (Grandmother) would constantly chime, "Feed a fever, starve a cold".

Not sure if it's right or not, but it I'm still around and healthy (now). :)

Here is my unsolicited & amateur opinion: just like you wouldn't try to cut calories the day after you go over, you shouldn't try to increase calories the day after you ate little. It's only one day - and it's one day at a time. It's like this to me: when you flip a penny, sometimes you get heads, and sometimes you get tails, but the penny never remembers the last time. So if you didn't hit the goal the day before - well, that day is over, the sun went down and back up again, and it's a new day.

If it becomes a consistent thing, then we can start to be concerned. Just don't kick yourself for not doing something that - and I will remind you of this - a *computer* is telling you to do. The goal is to get healthy, not follow a rigid scorecard.

Good luck on your day today. Hope you feel better.
