Both! I find squats to be easier, but lunges are better for what parts of me are weaker. I always do both of em!0
-

Both! I actually prefer squats, but I do both!0

I just started a 30 day squat challenge today.0

Squats. I will cry and beg if I ever get lunges in my program0
-
Squats. Lunges are like...cardio, for me.0
-
Both0

as a primary lift, squats...I do lunges for assistance work. I really don't consider lunges to be a foundational, primary lift.0

Squats as a primary/compound lift. Lunges as penance for my sins.0

Which one do you prefer?
I prefer both, since they emphasize different fitness skills. Squats emphasize strength, while lunges emphasize balance, hip & spine lateral stabilization, forward movement & deceleration (useful for sports), and of course strength. They complement each other perfectly, if the goal is overall fitness. For bodybuilding, they're an assistance exercise.

I usually train all different types of squats (back, front, overhead, pistol) every day that I work out but usually only incorporate lunges every week or 10 days. I think of them as an assistance exercise.0

Both. I usually just superset squats and weighted lunges. Both are key exercises for me.0
-
Both. I like to do them as supersets....0
-
Both. Generally as a secondary exercise on either squat or deadlift day (been doing them on deadlift day, RDLs on squat day, since I can't squat and conventional DL on the same day).
Doing lunges on the same day as squats is brutal. So tiring. They are a nice way to work my legs after deadlifts without being as hard on my lower body, but yeah they can be a cardio workout for me too.0 -
Squats. I just can't get things to work right for me doing lunges.0
-
I love them both and do them both but on different days!0

Squats for sure (I'm assuming we're talking about the ones with a couple hundred pounds on your back).0

I do both, I have one general leg day - 1 week I do squats, the next time I do leg day I will do lunges instead. They're both difficult but probably lunges I would classify as killer at the end. I do them with dumbbells in hands. Typically follow squats or lunges set with leg curl machine or use yoga ball for hamstring curls.0

If the question is what I like most, lunges. But both are needed.0
-
I hate them both, lol! But I still do them.0

I do them both every (quad focused) leg day.
I do heavy squats (135 building up to 225 or so). On squats my goal is to increase reps at each weight on each set (up to about 8 reps per set).
After squats I usually go right into 5x20 walking lunges, usually all at the same weight (right now I'm at about 100lbs). On lunges my goal might be to increase speed at a certain weight, or to increase the ease at which I finish all my sets. Then I'll move up by 10lbs when it becomes "easy".
I love squats for making me feel strong, but I love lunges for being the ONLY thing that makes me feel agile and coordinated at. I feel powerful AND explosive. They're the cardio of strength moves.

Squats, *kitten* to the grass. Super set lunges with leg extension for a nice wobbly leg effect lol0

Lunges are evil. I do them on deadlift day.0
