Sorting Food in Food Diary?

Does anyone know of a more intuitive way to sort foods through MFP? Like, for instance, I would find it really, super-super helpful if I could sort by things like my fruits, veggies, dressings etc. I don't really eat the same foods at the same time (so a breakfast one day might be a lunch the next..) and my list is getting long and logging my foods is starting to take up what feels like a significant part of my day.

You can change the headings to anything you want. (doesn't have to be breakfast/morning snack/ etc.)
Or are you saying you are having a hard time finding things in the data base?
  • I got confused here. I am from Indonesia and just have Indesian meals. Anyone can help me how to figure it out with food diary.hmmm... #help#

I would just like to have a better way of picking my food to log it instead of just by frequent, meal or alphabetical. I was hoping someone had found a hack to list foods by category like fruit, vegetables etc. As of right now I have this 2 page list I have to flip through to get to all of my foods and it feels like it takes forever. But, if there were sections or tabs or some such thing it would make it easier to get to what I want, say an apple, without having to go through all of my foods.

You can sort things by name instead of last used, which could make it a bit quicker.
And on the (iphone) app, you can search through frequent/meals/ etc by typing the name in and it will show you the foods that you have used previously rather than searching the database for them. So they should pop right up there by just typing in grapes or what have you.

Gotcha. I have android devices and it hasn't been the smoothest running app. Sometimes it seems to bring up my food and other times it seems to want to search the database. Also, I'm sure there's user error.

If you're using the app, after you add a food, press and hold to move it to b/l/d or delete.

Don't press enter or search after typing in what you want otherwise it does search the database. Just type in what you want and it should pull up your own foods.
