Hi all!! I had my baby girl in August and she is still 100% EBF. I was 146lbs the day before I delivered her. 6 months pp I am 138. I would like to get back down to 125 hence my lifestyle change that I've started. I log breastfeeding under exercise as 200 calories because I don't want to impact my supply. I'm supposed to stay around 1350 calories per day plus the 200 I allot for nursing. So 1550 total. I've also been working out 4x a week. My question is are any if you other EBFing mamas STARVING?? I feel like I'm so hungry ..... Not every day but especially today!

I am not sure 200 is enough! have you tried upping your calories a little for a week or two to see what happens? 200 wouldn't be enough for me at all. More like 400.
Also, brilliant idea about adding the nursing calories to exercise... i will have to do that! I didn't know how to account for it!0 -
I think you may be right about upping the calories for nursing. I know they say you can burn up to 500 a day if you're exclusively breastfeeding and since my LO is a non stop nurser I'm sure it's more than 200. I will try upping it and see if that helps. Thanks!!!0

I'm planning on EBF my daughter when I have her in July. I'm glad I decided to pop in today though since I didn't know you could log it as exercise to make sure you're getting enough. I'll have to do that0

I added 500 to my daily allowance but I think im going to drop it down to 400.....it's so hard!! Bf makes me hungry all the time!! With my first, I didn't lose the last 5-10 lbs till i weaned. Hoping to do better this time....0

Yes, 500 is definitely more appropriate for exclusively breastfeeding. I recently read that nursing moms should eat no fewer than 1800 calories per day.0
