I like sit ups and push ups. I find them very difficult, but they also make me feel like a bad a$s when I'm done.

My compound lifts work my core, but I do enjoy doing a little extra core work only because I enjoy it. My cardio day always features a core section, but I also do weighted core work on my two lower body days.

Today I did leg raises and went up into a reverse crunch at the top (with some ankle weights for added resistance) and weighted hyperextensions (yes, your back is part of your core - don't focus only on abs and neglect the rest). On Fridays I usually mix it up and do some weighted crunches, plank and side plank circuits, kneeling back extensions, etc. I plan to work in some weighted decline sit-ups eventually. Hanging leg raises can kiss my butt.

Hanging leg races? Those sound way more fun than hanging leg raises.

I've been doing squats with body weight and 5-10 lbs handweights, and crunches and trunk rotations on the bowflex. I may add some sit ups to my routine since I am able to actually do them now ... as long as something holds my feet down lol.

Squats, deadlifts, hanging leg raises, swissball crunches, prone jacknives (usually w/ swiss ball) and this weird thing I made up on the decline bench.

    I'm a video-er, I like Bob Harper's "Totally Ripped Core" workout.

For now, I'm using machines for torso rotation, crunches, and back extensions.
I want to work up to doing planks (all around), and it would probably be good to add leg raises to more target the lower abs.

Lol, normally my spelling is spot on. Not sure how I missed that. I'm gonna blame the fact that it was early and I wasn't fully awake yet :)

ETA: I don't know what your talking about, it says raises...

    Double kettlebell front squats.

    Overhead squats.

Ab wheel or med ball rollouts.

    Single leg RDLs

Asymmetric loaded carries (suitcase carries, waiter's walks, rack walks, etc)

    Jefferson deadlifts.

Windmills/bent presses (that family of leaning, overhead load kind of stuff...)

    Crunches, planks, dumbbell side bends.

Forgot to mention: chin ups and push ups - probably the two moves with the best core activation (if you're doing them properly)

I hate doing abs lol. I usually workout my core from other exercises that require your core engaged the entire time. However, on certain occasions I like to do hanging leg raises, crunch, bicycles, v ups, rolling planks, vacuume for 15 sec rest 15 for 5 min.

^^ Amen. I would add compound movements like the squat, DL, & OH press. CORE. Also, cable kneeling crunches.

to the OP: all different variations of weighted sit ups, twisted and reg, plank, knee slaps while in plank, some pilates core exercises, bicycle crunches, weighted bridge and hip thrusts (more for glutes but work the abs) ... etc.

Wow Pilates sounds like a beast. Never messed with it but I really need to start doing something with more structure like that. Plank nightmare though lol

Hanging leg raises, crunches on decline bench, plank variations, russian twists with a lunge...this thing I do with an exercise ball that I can't think of the name of...

I don't do a whole ton of direct ab work...usually at the end of my workout if I have a few extra minutes or I might do some on cardio days if I haven't gotten any in for awhile. I usually hit my core pretty hard with my Oly lifts and other compound movements.

Kettle bell windmills are my favorite! Planks, hate them but they work. Pilates did amazing things for my abs post-baby but was too repetitive/high rep/boring for me to stick with long term. Very effective, my attention span is simply too short.
