Calories in a big fried taco salad shell?

I am going to get a taco salad at my favorite mexican restaurant tomorrow, and they don't have nutritional info because it's not a chain.

I am so excited because it's soooo delicious, especially the large fried shell/bowl it comes in!

I've been looking on MFP for entries people have already made for other places and they're about 400 calories. I feel like it would be more like double since its fried but maybe I'm overestimating?

What do you think?

The fried shell ones at taco bell run about 750+. If they still make them like I remember, they use a LOT less sour cream than in your picture, and I don't think they include guac at all.

I suspect the ones you're seeing in the database were only counting a half portion.

lol why would you want to eat that greasy thing anyway? My mom used to make them that way all the time and I can't stand it! I found this so perhaps your estimate is correct.

Ugh I know I shouldn't...but it's SO GOOD.

Thanks for that! Maybe I'll eat half or something. We will see how strong my willpower is :P

Personally I get the same exact thing at a local Mexican place. I just tell them to omit the shell... saves calories and it's really not that good anyhow.

Fried food tastes like *kitten* anyhow.
