Hi everyone, I joined this site/app a while a go now but I keep forgetting to update my profile/food/weight etc. I am needing some buddies to keep me on track! I'm 24 and need to lose 2st. I suffer with ins so need to get my eating habits under control so I can have a better lifestyle. Feel free to add me.

I really want to know what keeps people on track? Mine is all in my head, I know I'm not hungry but if I know I've got something that I want then my mind will make me go and have it even when I'm not hungry. I'll ignore it for a while but then I end up feeling hungry and having it when I know for a fact that I'm not hungry!

In all fairness, the only one who can keep you on track is you. You need to be fully committed to make it work, otherwise you find excuses (and they are sooooo easy to find (I used to have a "I'll do it tomorrow" which extended to a lot of tomorrows :( ).
It starts with keeping (honest) track of what you are eating. Using scales definitely helps. I am using a "step-counter", which increases the amount of steps I have to do on a daily base ... not very intrusive, but it keeps you focussed if you see the amount of steps you still have to do to get to your daily target (very addictive as well .... doh)
If you want to, you can add me, but you might not like that, as I do not do sweet talk unfortunately (positive criticism that is called I think :) ) ... sorry

Hi iofred, what you said is totally correct, I find excuses all the time, I don't want to find the excuses but I always manage to find them.

lol, and there are so many of them ... I know a lot of them :)
One of the things I always do is work out first thing every morning (as early as 5am) ... that way I will not find an excuse to not do my activity :)
The step-counter is an excellent motivator, and the other thing that works is the reward system. You set yourself a goal, and reward yourself if you stick to it.
But as I mentioned, you need to be convinced you have to do it, otherwise the excuses win, and you will lose. It is your body, it should do what you want, not let it control you ... :)
