Haha! I swear I am addicted to sugar though! And at the moment I have to have at least 2 nescafe gingerbread lattes everyday! I'll take a look at your diary and see if it inspires me....0

Well cut my legs off and call me Shorty! You want to discuss how to use sugar?!? *THUMP* dead0

You could make your own? Get some of that sugar free Monin syrup (like they use in Costa) and add it to a milky coffee. In the Summer I do my own frappuccinos in the blender.....skimmed milk, syrup, coffee and ice cubes.
Don't forget fruit has carbs too. I find apples quite sweet, and they're yummy with peanut butter.
I don't generally have that much sugar/carbs, although I did make a choc cake yesterday0 -

Just had a snoop... Yeah I wouldn't go for the egg whites personally but I'm liking the caramel cookie crunch whatever that is... However Im guessing that's not healthy
I think the issue here is that sugar is not easy to make healthy when your addicted. And the same goes for those carbs!

I'm sure 30g of ice cream is no less healthy than 30g of Special K!0 -
Oh I'm not the only one!
It's sugar it gets me!
All.the.time!
I'm going to have to stay clear of it as much as possible as it's really effecting everything. It ruins all my hard work.

Sugar in moderation is fine, but if you think that you are (seriously) addicted then you have a problem Jen. It not only adds weight but it contributes to mood swings which can lead to overeating, for example. So that's a cycle that is self defeating. It's a hard one to ween yourself off, because it is addictive. Do a simple bit of google research on sugar addiction and see what you find :-)0

everything in moderation
my diet is 50-60% carbs and I eat crisps and toast every day and ice cream most days but it's all a balance with a load of vegetables, lean proteins and carefully constructed delicious go-to meals that I batch prepare at the weekend
this week I will be eating roast chicken, salmon fishcakes, meditteranean vegetable stew, butternut squash risotto and lots of leafy salads. I always have either toast with egg white, cheese and mushrooms or porridge made with water and honey for breakfast and snack on toast, cottage cheese, avocado and tomato after work. I try to eat a 0% greek yogurt and berries daily too.

Yeah see I'm wondering is it ok to have carby products like bagels and sugary treats like a couple of biscuits or a chocolate bar EVERY day as long as I'm below my calorie intake? And are there any foods which can satisfy a sugar craving but not be so bad for you!

I say there's nothing wrong with carby products everyday as long as you work them into your calories, just as you've mentioned
You can always eat a good balance of food. Like for example sometimes I'll have chicken stir fry for dinner and then ice cream topped with bacon for dessert. The chicken and vegetables in my dinner satisfy some of my protein and carb needs, and the ice cream and bacon satisfy some of my fat and protein needs

Yeh I guess low calorie stuff doesn't always taste great. Bacon and ice-cream I'd never put those together! May have to try it.. But would you have it with ketchup or raspberry sauce!?!

If only that was true but I believe science has well and truly done us over when it made 100kcal of fruit better for us than 100kcal of chocolate which makes no logical sense in my world so science stinks when it comes to our metabolisms. Haha!

Definitely raspberry sauce. Or better yet, caramel. Makes for a nice sweet-savory-sweet combo0 -
Iv never mixed food before really I eat things separately on my plate (think I'm weird like that) but i any just have to push the boat out on new experiences and try your concoction!0

Give it a try Why not, right? I just love sweet and salty foods so I figured bacon would make a good topping. I mean, people top ice cream with various nuts, coconut, sprinkles...why not bacon?0 -
This is true! And you can't knock something until you've tried it! Watch now it will be the best thing iv ever eaten and I can't stop eating it! Haha! Why does food have to be so good!!!0

calorie wise they are the same...
they are however, no nutritional twins..
what matters is the context of your overall diet and dosage of certain foods...
so have eggs, chicken, rice, vegetables, etc, and mix in some ice cream, bagels, etc ....0 -
Yeah so basically as long as its balanced I can have a sugary treat every day if I wanted. Like a chocolate bar every day?!?!0
