I hope I don't sound like a wet blanket, but I go for slow and more or less steady over X amount in X period of time. :) If you are able to lose 10 lb. in 10 days, it's likely a lot of that will be water, as it's pretty hard to undereat by 3500 calories a day.

Maybe someone will have some solid advice for you, but I don't feel like it's a great goal - too hard to meet and therefore could be quite dissapointing, probably not all (or a high percentage of the total) actual fat loss, it may involve some pretty severe/restrictive methods and you have the rest of your life to eat and live, what's the rush? :)

Again, that's only my POV. It's your body and you make your own decisions with it. Good luck with whatever you decide on.

Take it off for 1 day or keep it off? At your weight, MFP will suggest .5 lbs per week to lose. Even if you lose at twice that rate - that would be 10 lbs in 10 weeks. Sorry, it's not going to happen in a healthy way.

Why would you even want to do that?

Yeah it's probably possible but you would likely look like you took a swan dive into a sharps bin and contracted 10 diseases.

Should have thought about all this 5 weeks ago.

You could drop water weight - but that'll come back on in 1 meal

Actually aiming for fat loss, and not just scale manipulation, you might drop 2-3lbs Week 1/2 then 1lb a week each subsequent week .. giving you more like a 7-10 week timeframe

This is not abuse - please read the MFP guidelines because I'm pretty sure that Moderators are pig-sick of users who flag posts as abuse because they don't like the way a message is delivered.

How do you plan to be in a 3500 calorie deficit every day?

    And why the rush?

I'm in the wet blanket club. They may do that on biggest loser but that doesn't make it healthy.

Way too unhealthy a goal. Please do not try this. Lose at a slow steady rate and keep it off. Not advised.

I'm in the wet blanket club. They may do that on biggest loser but that doesn't make it healthy.

Also the people on the biggest loser are morbidly obese and have extremely high BMRs.

OP, sorry. Weight loss is math. 3500 calories per pound. The only person on earth who can lose 10 actual pounds in 10 days is a person whose normal daily burn is 3500 calories (which yours is certainly not) and eats absolutely nothing for 10 days straight (and good luck to them with that)

Otherwise, no. sorry. People who are telling you it's an unhealthy goal might want to point out instead that it is physically impossible.

Maybe 3-4 pounds water weight and 1 pound true weight in 10 days. I give it 5 pounds max and only 1 of those pounds is a "real" loss.

Unless you are considering surgery, it is not possible.

Aww a "mean person" flag, I feel so loved. Seriously- people need to grow up. (Agreeing with, not upset with you, in case not clear).

Every time someone gets flagged for abuse, I feel like I missed out on hardcore pornography, nudes or violence. As that's what the abuse flag is supposed to be for.

The average human head weighs 10 lbs but I'm assuming you wish to keep yours.

It is possible, but it isn't advisable. If you stop eating, you could lose 4-5 lbs of body mass and without having anything in your stomach, that's another 4-5 lbs that would disappear from the scale. If you don't drink anything the day before you weigh, you would dehydrate yourself enough to lose a few more pounds. But I hope you can see how dangerous trying something like this is. Our bodies aren't designed to go without eating and drinking on a regular basis.

Your best bet is going to be the master cleanse (lemonade diet). You'll lose super fast but it will mostly be water weight and it will come back (or at least some of it).

A good piece of shape wear can make you look as if you lost ten pounds, I'd recommend that.

My tip is to not rush and do it right and keep it off long term.
Losing 1 pound a week is a healthier goal.
Put your numbers in MFP, set it for losing 1 pound a week, eat the calories you are given, and be patient.

If you only have 10 pounds to go I'd suggest losing 1 pound a week not 1 pound a day. To lose one pound you have to have a deficit of 3,500 calories. That's not feasible in one day.

I agree with the first poster - if you're that desperate to lose 10lbs in 10 days, you should have started sooner. I'm assuming it's for an upcoming event or other personal reason. Weight loss takes time; I'm lucky and super excited to lose 2lbs in a week. It's possible to lose more than that, but 10lbs? You'll suffer, be miserable and possibly put it all back on within a short matter of time.

But! You could lose a couple of pounds in that time frame, if that helps.

Just because you lose 10lbs does not mean it will be in the places you want. My gut is the last place to lose any inches.

If you are trying to fit into clothing, like a dress, I recommend paying for some good shapeware as a PP suggested. A good corset can really shave off some inches.

At your present weight, not too likely, but start today, in a few months, you will be glad you did.
I lost 40 pounds the first 2 months, but I had a lot to lose, and it took me 20 months to lose 160#

+1. OP, you don't say why the deadline. However, if it's for some event where you have to fit into something, the right undergarment will do wonders to flatter your figure.

Otherwise, if not for a special event, and you've just set a grand goal--it's not possible to lose the weight in such short order and be pleased with the result (in the mirror--where it REALLY counts). Slow it down, lose responsibly with realistic goals, and you'll be much happier with what you see your body become.

1st off this post will not be considered an abuse as per MFP guidelines.

When you flag an abuse you userid gets recorded and is sent along with the post to MFP Moderators.

If MFP Moderator's time is lost over a silly issue (as in this scenario) they'll come back at you and can warn you with points. In short it'll back fire.

If I were you I would unflag the "abuse" just for the sake of my id.

    It's not worth it.
