    So, here's the thing.
    Meal Prepping is boring.
to you it is... but to me it's nothing but making extra and splitting it up. It's not any MORE work than just making a meal and eating it that day. It's a very small burden- verses the significantly larger burden of having to making food regularly through the week. I work 3+ jobs. Having to come up with meals through the week is REALLY REALLY hard. If for whatever reason I don't prep my food on Sunday- I don't eat well and I"m stressed all week- I waste time trying to get food- and I spend more money and i tend to blow my calories.
    Enjoy life
you're making a giant a22 assumption that people who meal prep are boring and DO NOT enjoy their lives- and that's wrong.
    . Life is about choices.
yep- I chose to meal prep.
Why? because then I can enjoy the REST of my life and not worry about food.
    Just make the right one
and you have the answer for which one that is??

    lastly

you don't get to decide what is boring or not and what's the best choice for other people to make and what makes the most sense for them. I think watching football for hours and hours all week is boring. But guess what- I spend hours and hours beading intricate patterns and makind beaded fringe- you know how intoxication boring that is?
    - Very-
I love it- I still do it- very few people do these days- but I still love it.

and yes- making my food weekly instead of daily DOES save me time- lots of time.

I find intricate beading exciting. :)

Last night I made and froze 12 breakfast sandwiches and cooked 7 chicken breasts....

    What kind of breakfast sandwich?

I cooked two chicken breasts and extra broccoli cheddar soup that I will be having for lunch today and tomorrow.

Lolz, the tone of this post makes me think you want to fight the preppers.

I make 1 lunch meal every Sunday for the work week because it's easier, and I tend to like what I make... so I know I'll enjoy it for 5 days to come!

    FYI: work on your delivery.

Different strokes for different folks...I try to do a bit of both actually. I tend to prep my starches like brown rice, brown pasta and potatoes. To me it is the meat that gives my food flavor. That way I only need to worry about what I am making tonight, ground beef, beef strips, chicken breasts, hake, salmon or ostrich. Spicing meat is much easier than veg or starch.

Have any of you guys ever had ostrich meat? If i am correct it is even more lean that turkey but it tastes like normal red meat...quite nice.

Who wants to eat chicken breast and veggies every day for lunch and dinner for the rest of the week. I have 2 younger kids, both my wife and I have full time jobs, both workout 5-6 days week, and still manage to cook something every day or eat somewhere that fits our macros. "It saves time" really??? That's just an excuse. But if that's what you like to do and eat the samething everyday of the week. That's on you.

I prep on my days off and freeze meals. If I didn't meal prep for my 4 x 12 hr shifts I would be in big trouble. I am at work for lunch and dinner. Not everyone is home to make homemade meals every night.

I did egg, ham, and provolone on an English muffin. It is rather tasty and comes out to 247 calories and 20g protein.

I have no idea how you have time for your other jobs when making those costumes is one of them. That looks so time consuming! The blue one is absolutely gorgeous though!!

The only meal prep that I do ahead of time is usually just cook meat for recipes if it needs to be pre-cooked. I like to make a few different casseroles with chicken that calls for the chicken to be already cooked & diced. I make that a few days ahead of time, that way when we get home from work all we have to do is put everything together and bake it. I also plan my recipes for dinner in advance so I only buy what is needed for those recipes.

Meh. I prep one day ahead. If I'm having chicken breasts for dinner, I make extra for chicken salad sandwiches tomorrow for lunch. Yes, it does save time.

I actually don't find it boring! I have my daughter playing assistant in the kitchen with me, labelling the food bags, reading out and passing ingredients etc and we both actually really enjoy it. Plus, you know, it's teaching her good habits.

We don't eat the same meal every day, we make a big variety of meals and they're not reheated - they're frozen raw and cooked on the day - which saves a ton of time day to day for us.

Also, the amount of money it saves us crazy - we get 5kg of chicken fillets from the butchers for £25 and this makes approximately 11 meals for 3 people! Prior to this we were paying about £4 a meal in chicken that was smaller in size and from what I can tell, not as good quality. Our food shop has gone from over £100 a week to around £40-£50 a week, for more, better quality food! That in itself is reason enough for me.

It doesn't have to be that rigid... I typically make a large meal on Sunday nights and pack the leftovers for a couple of lunches, cook some hardboiled eggs, maybe chop some veggies for salads and side dishes etc... I even poach some chicken breasts that I can then use in various ways....

But if you don't feel the need to meal prep, don't do it. I wonder if your kids were older and were in a bunch of activities, would you see the value then?

It is. Brown sugar jalapeno Hawaiian. Even better with a habanero beer.
