Okay, so i connected/link my fitbit one with myfitnesspal. I started tracking my food today and i started using my fitbit one today. BUT i didnt track my food on my fitbit with the app.. i used MFP app for tracking my food so far for today. So whats syncs from my fitbit one to MFP? How does it work? I have a food goal on fitbit one--- i wanna lose "X" # of lbs by this day.. so fitbit one tells me how many calories i should eat during the day. How does everything all work with fitbit one and MFP? If anyone has this device.... hows it work for you? Im new to this syncing stuff... sorry

MFP will send the following to fitbit:
    • Weight (if logged on MFP)
    • Calories Consumed
    • Manual Exercise logged (only recommend for none step based workouts, things like swimming that a Fitbit can't accurately calculate the calorie expenditure for....manually logged workouts overwrite whatever fitbit thought for the time/duration that you log it)
Fitbit will send the following to MFP:
    • Weight (if logged on Fitbit)
    • Total Calories Burned for the day
    • Steps
    • Minutes of Sleep
    • Estimated Body Fat % (if logged on Fitbit)

While you could log food on Fitbit and eliminate the use of MFP all together, MFP has the better food database and features for logging. Fitbit is slowly working on improving these things (they recently added a barcode scanner to their app, MFP has had one since well before I started using them and that was 2013).

Your adjustment from Fitbit will be:

Fitbit Calorie Burn - MFP estimated burn based on selected activity level and logged exercise = adjustment

So your adjustment will be any activity that you do above and beyond the activity level that you selected on MFP. This means that it will consider your full day and not just workouts.

It shows up on my "Check In" page on MFP (website...I don't think it's in the app). With the Fitbit one, you do have to turn on sleep mode at night for it to know this information.
