IIFYM for a Non-Lifter

Hey guys,

I am not a lifter and have sort of fallen off the cardio wagon for a variety of reasons. I am looking to get back into my running routine, but thought about maybe switching up my MFP settings to IIFYM since I've read so much about it.

What I have *have* noticed is that most people that have success with it for weight loss also do lift/crossfit which is just not my thing. At least at the moment.

It's also suggesting a serious (500 calorie) increase in my daily intake, even when I list myself as sedentary.

My question is--if I up my calories to the recommended TDEE amount and adhere to the macros given to me--will I really lose weight? Or does it require a certain type of exercise to be effective?

I'm woman enough to say I'm ignorant on this topic, so go easy on me.

Thank you!
