I don't think I am doing this right

So I recently switched from Weight Watchers to using MFP. I really like it!!! However, I am noticing that I am ending the day with a huge deficit in calories. For example, last night I had about 1,600 calories left before dinner. Today, I am trying to bulk up my meals with rice and bread. I eat breakfast, lunch, dinner, and snacks. I feel like I am eating all the time.

I have about 50lbs to loose. My first week had a big number (5lbs), but the next 2 weeks I gained it back. Is it possible that it has been slow because I am not eating enough during the week, then too much during the weekend (I haven't been good at tracking on the weekends)?

  • Hi there! I've done weight watchers in the past too, and I find MFP to be easier and more convenient. An important thing to remember is that you should be eating at least 1200 calories a day, less than that and your body will start storing fat instead of burning it. Which could be a problem when you have so many left before dinner, especially if you're super strict during the week and lax on the weekend because your body has a hard time getting out of starvation mode. I hope that was helpful! - Katelyn
