My plan is to run for 1 hour a day, and eat 2000 calories. Does that sound okay? I'm 6'1 215 pounds.

Just put your numbers into MFP, decide how many pounds per week you want to lose (Don't put 2 pounds per week. Seriously don't) and eat to that. Any exercise you do is icing on the cake.0 -
Will you adjust your calories on days that you do not run?0

Is MFP two lbs a week off?ncboiler89 wrote: »Somedudeiguess wrote: »My plan is to run for 1 hour a day, and eat 2000 calories. Does that sound okay? I'm 6'1 215 pounds.

Did you pull 2000 calories out of your butt? What is this based off of?
Either use the numbers MFP gives you and eat back at least 50% of the exercise calories you log, or use TDEE and eat at a20% deficit.0 -

POtentially for the app, although that might be for any weight loss goal.
But for many people, 2lb/week is excessive and unnecessary, and could easily lead to more difficulties adhering to the calorie deficit.0 -

Newbs put in 2lbs per week as a goal with the thought process being "OMG OMG !!! I want to lose weight!! 2lbs per week!!" However they end up hungry, don't log food and don't lose like they should. This created a whole host of problems.
Start out at 0.5lbs - 1lb and re-evaluate after a month.0 -

Eat to your MFP calorie goal, set to 1lb a week goal
Add back 50% exercise calories (if using MFP database) and eat those too
Throw in some progressive weight training.0
