Where a hrm...I struggle to get my hr up high enough on my bike...so for the same effects of my running I have to ride twice as long, but still a very valuable tool in my toolshed0

Absolutely! I burn about 300 calories on a 35 minute ride. The route I take involves some brutal hills, and I'm trying to build myself up to going a little further each time before I turn around. Great for your butt and quads.0

When I was in high school I rode my bike everywhere until I got my car. Where I live there are LOTS of hills so all of that bike riding gave me super strong legs. In fact, I was able to leg press over 1,000 pounds and set the record for my high school at the time.
I should never have bought a car! I'd probably still have killer legs! lol
