For breakfast I had a nutella crepe. For lunch I went out with a girlfriend and ordered a chicken breast with rice. But then for dinner I had a small piece of sirloin steak with asparagus and some chocolates for dessert with tea. I feel like I totally cheated on my diet and exceeded my 1,200 cal diet because I can't have heavy meat like steak or rice or crepes or nutella and chocolates. The weird part is that after I came home to weigh myself I didn't gain much that I lost back, just 1 lb. But thats not a big deal to me. Is it ok to cheat every once in a while because I heard that having a cheat day actually tricks your stomach and weight loss!

Ask 5 different people around here this question and you'll get 5 different answers.
My opinion is and has always been, I love cheat meals!

They keep me motivated through the time of cutting bodyfat and give me something to really look forward to.

I enjoy food and see absolutely no reason why I shouldn't have a treat day from time to time! Everything in moderation, cheat days included.. once a while will have zero affect on your progress long term!

This is of course, just my opinion.

    All the best,
    Adam

It's not cheating, its called living life. As you as you don't do it all the time you'll be fine.

I logged over 1,200 today. I forgot to include my dinner though so its probably way more now. I'm eating 1,200 to lose.... Thats what was recommended to me!

You should get in the habit of logging everything you eat even when it takes you over

Also your diary logging is too vague ...weigh your food, don't use measuring cups and pick database entries with care ...the unstarred ones or those with multiple confirmations. Never use other people recipes, log your own

I still think 1200 is too low unless you're way under 5'

    Ok what are your stats?

Gender, age, height, current weight, current activity level excluding exercise, goal weight loss per week

With only 13lbs to lose you should be set to 0.5lb a week

I believe a cheat day could be too much for someone trying to lose weight. But a cheat meal is an excelent way to eat what you want, to put an end to your cravings, to stay motivated and to start fresh right after that.
Im on a weight loss journey myself and if i have a cheat meal every 2 weeks, and i eat a lets say pizza, which has 800 calories, i try to eat a very light salad for dinner and walk more or run a bit.

The most important thing when you are having a cheat meal or a cheat day is to not let yourself go.
Just because you had a nuttella crepe for breakfast does not mean you should have 3 more "just because your day is already f*****".
Always but always drink a lot of water and even more when you re having a cheat meal to rush the toxins out of your body.

And yes, i do believe that you should eat under your calorie goal today and maybe squeeze in a 30 min walk or something like that.

One cheat day wont make you fat just like one day full of healthy and nutritious food and exercise wont make you fit.

Brand new to this, but like with everything in life...you have to move on. Yeah it wasn't a productive day toward your goal but tomorrow is a new day and you just jump back on your program and keep moving :)
