It does not mean the same thing, and makes you look illiterate. Please stop. My 9 year old knows the difference. My husband, whose first language is not even English, knows the difference.

Your shirt will become LOOSE the more weight you LOSE.

Loose:

adjective, looser, loosest.
1. free or released from fastening or attachment:
a loose end.
2. free from anything that binds or restrains; unfettered:
loose cats prowling around in alleyways at night.

Lose:

verb (used with object), lost, losing.
1. to come to be without (something in one's possession or care), through accident, theft, etc., so that there is little or no prospect of recovery:
I'm sure I've merely misplaced my hat, not lost it.
2. to fail inadvertently to retain (something) in such a way that it cannot be immediately recovered: I just lost a dime under this sofa.
3. to suffer the deprivation of: to lose one's job; to lose one's life.

It does make me crazy. I'm not a huge spelling freak, but it would be nice if people paid a little more attention to the words they right (ha ha).

Loose - Is spelled like and sounds like goose.

I don't think the people using the misspellings are confused about what "Loose" and "lose" mean, but rather are confused on which spelling goes with which sound.

We could combine lose and loose into one catch-all word: looose. That way it can be used in any context and be correct. niymwy44e0rj.gif

I don't get how people can mess up possessive pronouns. It's not like you say m'y or hi's or he'r.
