Hi. My name is Colin and I'm a 60ish guy who decided to make a change as a New Years resolution. I live in Yellowknife, so it's not always pleasant to poke ones nose out the door at this time of year. Started a pretty informal reduced calorie / increased exercise routine on January 5th and lost 20 lbs by March 4th. I switched over to a reduced carb approach then, and have lost another 8-9 lbs. only
11 away from my first major goal now, and trying to stay focused; knowing that maintenance is going to be to the bigger challenge.
Anyway, I only started using MyFitnessPal this morning, and it thinks I've lost 24 lbs in the past week. It also doesn't let me record carbs properly - insisting on logging gross instead of net for most foods. I'll give it a chance though. It seems a pretty elegant way to keep score.

Welcome Colin, sounds like you have done a bang up job thus far. I love MFP and the peeps on here. I know I couldn't have had as much success as I have without this site.
All the best on your new lifestyle changes.
P.S. Please keep you weather up there. :)
  • Thanks Asia1967. In another couple of months, our weather will be pretty enviable. For now, we'll certainly hang on to it.
