what are some exercises you do at home?

I'm not in the mood to go workout away from home. What kind of exercises do you do at home? Does running in place really help?

There are "on demand videos" for different workouts that I have done, I've also done planks, crunches and other ab excercises. I haven't done cardio at home but I would think running in place or "jumping rope" without a jumprope would be good ways to get your heart rate up, which is a good thing! You have a lot of options! You also could create a step from a stool or something and do step ups.

Fitness Blenders on YouTube have a ton of great workouts you can do from home. Just find which ones right for you. I've tired a few of they're workouts. I'm actually doing one of their hiit cardio and abdominal workout every other day.

I clean the house. If you do this vigorously (mopping, vacuum, etc), I have burned up to 300 cal/hour according to my heart rate monitor. Plus, the house is cleaner!

Running in place should be as effective as running on a treadmill, though not as effective as running outside.

I've been hearing really great reviews for jillian Michaels 30 day shred. Added bonus, it's only 30 minutes, but she makes you work hard for it.

OP, seriously tho, sexercise is a good alternative!

30 day shred is a good one, But it depends what you want to accomplish though. 30 day shred was good, but in order for me to lose lbs and fat I had to incorporate a lot of cardio!

Another vote for Fitness Blender! Been using their workout vids for over a year, no boredom because they have a huge variety - over 400 free workouts.

Actually, it's only 20 minutes. The first time you do it, it will be the longest 20 minutes of your life

I read the title of this thread as "What are some excuses you do at home" and I was going to say, "I have a headache". ;)

I use the Popsugar channel on youtube, they have some half hour videos.. I used to hate exercise videos and think they were generally useless, but there are some really good ones out there for free on Youtube. It's especially easy if you have kids at home. My 4 year old doesn't really understand how to do the moves, but, she stays moving the whole video. So, it's good for her too.
