Quinoa

new to this, using quinoa as main carb. Any recipe suggestions? I'm pretty much doing the 1/4 cup dry (then cooked) plus boiled egg whites and/or lean chicken. Trying to up the protein and lower the carbs.

    Quinoa makes a great base for salad, especially tuna salad. I like to make it with quinoa, tuna, mustard and cubed/shredded pickles.
    This is a pretty good salad, you can tip the macro balance by adding more or less of the quinoa and tuna. It's so simple that you can easily build off it (for example, mix in hard boiled eggs for extra fat and protein, add your favorite veggies, canned corn, etc...)

    I like to mix some butter and salt in. and just eat it like that
  • That sounds pretty tasty but I'm trying to keep my fats down to 15% daily. Not easy lol. I've heard olive oil works good, too. I mix it with some shredded chicken breast for now. Not bad.
  • That quinoa salad sounds simple and tasty. Going to try it, might add some boiled egg whites for extra protein. Thanks.
