Here's to a new attitude of determination and motivation to change my life for the better! Right? *sighs* it's so much easier said than DONE. I could use some calorie countin companions!

My name is Mindy, I'm 24. Struggled with weight most of my childhood and adult years. My story isn't unlike many others, and I've done just about everything you could think of, except, oh you know, sticking to an actual lifestyle change... and excersize...

ugh don't get me started on excersize.

Don't get me wrong, I enjoy zumba, walking, swiming, hiking, you name it! But when your already carry get so much weight on your knees and back, it feels like just getting through a day of work is a work out itself, much less trying to get put of bed

 add mild insomnia and depression and I've got a recipe for more excuses of "why can't" than I know what to do with.

I recently got married, we are about to celebrate our 2nd anniversary , & eventually want to start a family. But my health needs to change before I even think about subjecting my body through that, not to mention subjecting my future children to a life of yo-yo diets, food adversions coupled with low self esteem issues. The world will do that to them on their own, it's my job to teach them how to be healthy. In order to do that, I have to be healthy first, with the right mind set.

I want this. I just need a push over that insanely large cliff of self doubt, so I can fall through the darkness of unknowns..

while I wish I had just one more cookie before I went... anyone care to join me?

It's nice to know we're not alone :)
  • You can do it mate. Weight loss is a mind game, but stay motivated and positive.

I used to weigh 110kg and as soon as I stopped focussing on the 'losing weight' part of it and started focussing on the 'being healthy' part, I dropped 50+kgs.

Get your head right, stay determined, I know you can succeed!

It is a big challenge but love your priorities so I believe u can do it. I'm new and only been here less than a week but when I started to enter my daily intake in the journal that was all it took for me to see where my problems was in. So now I search for healthier alternative choices for my daily meals. It has introduced me to healthier sides and motivated me to eat more veggies. So excited for u on this new challenge and that u found this app as well. Good luck. U can add me as a friend if u like looking forward to your journey as well.

Hi Mindy! love that you are in that mind set now and ready to begin. Weight loss is a journey not a sprint, so always keep that in mind. It WILL NOT happen over night and what has helped me is watch the inches not the weight. I have hit plateaus and it sucks but when I measure I realize I have still lost the inches but not the pounds. :) I would be happy to be there to take that journey with you..add me if you'd like! and Good Luck! you got this!!!!!
