hi my name is Mary
I have been trying to lose weight for years. I have 70 lbs I need to lose, I live with a junk food addict. He sabotages every effort I make to lose weight. He knows I try to diet but he buys me ice cream bars cookies makes buttery popcorn at 10 pm
I buy yogurt pretzels fruit but the junk food usually wins. I exercise at least 30 min a day 3-4 days a week.
I need a diet buddy

Just because he buys it doesn't mean you have to eat it. If you really want it, you can fit a serving into your day...if not, leave it for him.0

I know I'm just weak I've never been this heavy or really had a weight problem I am allowed 1200 calories per day but when I try to watch my calorie intake he sits there and eats in front of me0

Then commit. The point malibu raised was the one that struck me, you need to ignore the junk food unless you have spare calories and focus on what other things you have decided to eat because thats what fits your target. You need to commit to making the changes needed to be able to eat less and preferably lose more. 1200 calories is quite low and the lowest you should go, perhaps you could start with soemthing less agressive. In any event it starts with weighing and logging your food so you understand and know how much you are eating.0

The hardest thing I've learned is to know when to just say NO! I know I'm not perfect and I do slip up (like today), but this is a skill you'll need to practice. Other challenges will arise and you need to have a game plan. No one is going to bust in and save the day for you (pictures a man in a cape busting in the house at just the right moment. lol). You have to make it clear to this guy that you are trying to pick up some good habits.
At the same time, make sure your calorie goal is not too aggressive. Maybe you can enjoy small amounts of certain tasty foods while still losing weight (assuming you have no medical conditions restricting you).
