Sugar detox anyone?

I've been toying around with the idea of a sugar detox but I'm wondering if I'd need to go far off into the woods away from civilization so that I can go through the withdrawals without tearing off the heads of my loved ones.

do you have some medial condition or are you just doing this because?

also, does this mean that you are eating no fruit, no bread, etc, etc…?

sugar detox is totally unnecessary for anything….

I have used the book from Jorge Cruise called "The 100" to help me cut my sugar intake way down and now if I have something that has a lot of sugar I feel it. There is lots of recipes that you can make for your sweet tooth

I've done one sugar detox and am getting ready to start another one. The first one seemed pretty easy; I don't remember having terrible cravings. It's not a calorie restriction diet, it's just replacing processed, refined foods with whole, natural foods so I wasn't starving. I did lose weight though and my joints stopped hurting and I slept better. The best advice I can give is to prepare. I make a week's worth of breakfasts on the weekends, salad for lunch and plan my dinners for the week. I highly recommend the book "21 Day Sugar Detox" by Dianne Sanfillippo. I didn't follow the meal plan, just the lists of yes and no foods. Plus, it's got great advice and recipes.

    This times a thousand :)

You don't need a detox of any kind... your kidneys function, so you're naturally removing any waste from your system. If you're looking to limit added sugars (for lack of a better term), that's different.

Why not just start meal planning and shopping for foods that fit in with your goals? Is there a reason for the detox?
