What is wrong with people?

Apparently it is freshly dead (does that make it better??, safer maybe...)

I found my self laughing a couple times... (what is wrong with me?)

Wow, the fact that she's not scared of it, or grossed out worries me a little. She's going to be on the show Snapped later in life lol

I am aghast. Seriously what parent says hey this is a Kodak moment let me get the video camera in a moment like this? Just wrong on so many levels. I grew up with hunters, we fished, we had a farm for the early part of my childhood, and this ... well this just didn't happen. :noway:

Someone send this to Rob Zombie I think this should have been a scene in Halloween!

Holy wow! :noway: I can't believe they decided to tape it instead of freaking out and making her put it down! It never ceases to amaze me that you need a license to drive a car or fish but any idiot can bring a child into the world :explode:

I just think that is so disgusting! :frown:

ETA I grew up in a little tiny town and hung out on relative's farms during the summer but we never played with dead animals. I can remember my mom not even allowing us to pick up bird feathers because they might have lice.

There are a lot of parents that deserve getting smacked.

    Here's one even worse.

It would have been endearing if she were somehow trying to nurse it back to health after her greyhound killed it... I'm also reaaaally curious about what in the world the Mom was SO freaked out about. Someone showed up and I couldn't tell who she said. Seems to me she knew it was messed up and was somehow ok with it until someone showed up and then she kinda freaked out a little. I could TOTALLY see my daughter trying to do this same exact thing but instead of laughing and filming it I would take the opportunity to explain WHY the dog killed the squirrel and a lesson on death and nature. Seems like poor parenting but not because they let her "play" with it but because they didn't take the time to be real parents and teach the poor little girl something that she would remember for life.

Death is a part of life,I used to play with dead animals when I found them when I was little.I would bring home dead animals I found and bury them in my backyard.Once I had a pet parakeet that died so me and my brother buried it in the backyard,a month later we dug it up to see what it would look like. I think I was 7 at the time.I have always been fascinated with death and our bodies decaying back to the earth.I used to want to be a mortician when I grow up.I have not ended up on the show snapped,im not harming little animals.

Now on to the videothe only thing that freaked me out was thinking who knows how many germs that squirlle had all over it and that lttle girl was rubbing it in her face ick.Do i think they are bad parents no not at all,but no I proboby wouldnt let my daughter handle it like that.My daughter does not freak when she sees dead animals but I tell het its not a good idea to touch them because they could get her sick.
I dont understand why the parents should get the s*** smacked out of them.

I think I agree that they missed a good teaching moment. Instead grabbing the Video Camera?!?!? Seriously?
We saw a dead bird this weekend, I am glad that my kids had no desire to touch it... it was just a non issue

Men are all the same,we have home movies from when I was little on christmas and every now and then my dad would zoom in on my moms butt or chest lol

I'm not comparing the two. I said it was worse. A lot worse to be honest. In fact they shouldn't even be parents. It's quite disturbing to see a 3 year old smoking a cig while the parents, family, and/or friends smile in the background.

It's not even close to being anywhere on the same level. Just a parent that needs smacked.

I don't think there was anything wrong with it. Better that the little girl is not freaked out by the fact that their dog just killed it. And sometimes kids just come up with things that you know are wrong, but you just can't help laughing. A few examples...

When I was little a had a doll that had the opening/closing eyes. I also had a little tea set. One day I came downstairs with forks stuck into the doll's eyes. My parents couldn't stop laughing long enough to tell me that it wasn't nice to do that.

Me and hubs had picked my nephew up from school one day (he was maybe 6 at the time). I can't remember exactly how the following conversation started, but here's how it finished. Somehow the word "cream" came up.
    Nephew: Cream for my *kitten*?
Me: (glancing at hubs and seeing him trying not laugh) No!
Nephew: Cream to put in my *kitten*?
Me: (snorting in my attempt to not bust out laughing) NO!
At which point I think he knew he was being funny and started singing about "*kitten* cream."

lol, i'm not horrified. they weren't planning on letting her keep it forever.

re: the mum freaking out a bit, i dont think it was squirrel related, i thought she'd just seen someone she needed to see. she took the dog inside and then went out and down the street.
