Hi - just search "post menopausal" and found your introduction. I'm 52, post hysterectomy by 7 years, and have struggled ever since...no matter what diet I try I struggle to lose anything. Am now trying the 5:2 (with lower calorie adjustments) and after two weeks am seeing a bit of weight loss. Hope?
I'm also from the Midwest (MN), and am really glad that spring seems to be in its way! If I can figure out how to "friend" you, I will. Perhaps we can share what's working and what's not?0 -
Hi, I am almost 62 and live in Colorado. I was always thin (5'6" and 115-118 )!until menopause 5 1/2 years ago. I am now retired (over 1yr) and have skied 45 days so far. My thyroid is normal yet I have so much less energy than I did before menopause. I admit that I snack out of boredom or frustration. I used to spin (until I ruptured my Achilles at age 52) 5 times a week but since moving to the mtns of Colorado 9 years ago I haven't found a club where spinning is offered several times a day let alone several times a week. I used to be motivated to go to the health club but I feel so out of place in Uber Fit Vail, CO. I am so frustrated because I have gained 15 pounds and have so so much difficulty losing a few pounds. I am not on HRT and am now wondering if that would help. Summer is coming up and it's hard to haul extra weight biking and hiking. In fact, I feel so heavy I have a hard time getting motivated to go biking or hiking. I
Have a swim dress from Athaleta but it's hard to actually swim in it. I have used My Fitness Pal I. The past with success but I didn't weigh as much as I weigh now nor was I almost 62. I could use some post menopausal women for support, suggestions, motivation and comraderie.Hi - just search "post menopausal" and found your introduction.
