Treadmill or Dreadmill?

Should it be treadmill or dreadmill? What do you do to make your treadmill experience better? I watch videos as I run on the treadmill to help fade the mundaneness.

It's spring. It should be the deadmill for the next nine months. Go outside instead.0

Dreadmill. I would prefer to be outside, but sometimes I am too much of a weather wimp. On those days, I wear my ipod and/or watch ESPN while running on the dreadmill.0

I've come to a happy medium between tread and dread when it comes to the 'mill. I've found it's a great tool for controlled speedwork. I like to do either .25 per mile at ~.5-1 mph faster than the rest of the run OR I listen to my running playlist and go hard for the chorus of a song and easy on the verses. 3-5 miles fly by on the mill these days!0

If I try that, it would be a Deadmill...lol0 -
It is a valuable tool for me teaching muscle memory in relation to times. It is part of an entire routine so the frequency is only once or twice a week making it a tread and not dread. I listen to motivating music and the time flies.0

I love my treadmill! It is much better for my joints than running outside (though I do when the weather permits). What I do to pass the time is listen to all of the music on my iPod in alphabetical order by album title. Yes, I know this sounds strange but I accepted a challenge on a progressive rock web board to listen to albums in their entirety (which nobody seems to do anymore). I started in September of 2013. I only do this during my workouts. I've just started the letter "I". Yes, I've still a long way to go.0

I sorta prefer the treadmill than going outside to workout. It's kind of monotonous for me anyway, so I can at least just watch a video while working out.0

Uhh it's so boring I refuse. I would rather walk outside in freezing temps.0

It's my warm up before I lift - I prefer to run outside but the treadmill certainly does its job well0

I use my dreaded weekday gym sessions to do some interval training and a fat burner programme. I genuinely find 10 miles outside easier to run than 3 indoors. I need stimulation otherwise I just give up!0

I would venture to guess if you walked this way in a public park you might get arrested, hah0 -
Treadmill! I love using it in the cold weather months and daya I don't want to go out.0

Go outside. If I have to go to the gym for cardio, I have books loaded on my iPad to occupy me (unfortunately their wifi is terrible so I can't get on Netflix, which I'd prefer).0

I like the treadmill because I can raise or lower the incline, can see how fast I'm going (does it matter? no, but I still like that!), and gives me an approximate calorie count. I love outside because for some reason, the Y doesn't allow dogs on the treadmill with you, and my little doxie absolutely adores walking! Plus it's wonderful to see the sunrise or sunset.
Overall, I prefer outside for short walks, but the treadmill for longer ones, if for absolutely no other reason than I have easy access to a bathroom.0 -
Treadmills are easy to me, i run outside all year round in all kinds of weather.
I do hill running/fell running.
I think maybe people prefer the treadmill because they don`t get wet or feel the cold.0 -
The treadmill is good for starting over, like I am doing again. I can control my pace and the timer is right there for walking/jogging. It is much easier on my shins and knees. The concrete sidewalk kills me.0

Treadmill if it's too hot, cold, or dark. Otherwise I prefer outside0
-
Dreadmill. if road conditions are unsafe, I just don't run. Otherwise, I'm outside in most any conditions to get the run in.0

Although I'd rather be outside but can't (allergies are too much sometimes), I've learned to love the treadmill by watching movies/videos/television.0

I really enjoy the treadmill and try to do 45-60 minutes on it 4-5 times a week. It works for me. I like watching Sportscenter while I listen to music from my Spotify walking workout playlist. Once I get in my zone the time goes by pretty fast. I recommend https://jog.fm for finding music that matches your pace. The site has all genres. I like the treadmill because it forces me to keep up my pace. I always use the incline. It helps me feel my muscles working and keeps my heart rate up.0

Dreadmill. I only run outside. Even with winter weather in northeast PA, I still managed to run at least twice a week. As much as I hate the cold, I hate treadmills more.0
