Ok maybe I did not pick the best time to try and regain controle over my weight!!!!!

I started three weeks ago because hay how hard could this be, great web site, easy to use app, electronic scales (for me and my food)

Week One, my bathroom scales went, one of the kids pulled the foot off and now if i weigh myself three times in the exact same spot I get three diffrent reading which have been up to 5lb difference, great.

Week Two, my solicitor calls that house we are going to buy well we will be moving in three wekks can we be packed by then, sure....course i can, I only have three kids, one cat, two goldfish, one husband AND EXAMS NEXT WEEK.......and its my TOM so my weight loss is turning into a weight gain

Week Three, exams I'm doing ok I feel grotty but ok, by the middle of the week I can barely breath and go to the doctors...Infected wind pipe, dont get out of breath and here have sone antibiotics, an inhaler, and some steroids....

Entering week four, solicitor says legal stuff for the house move is going slow but we should still be ok.....what do you mean should?... my appitite is throught the roof I'm starving but sticking to the plan, however my weight is still going up.....What !!! why!!! come on!!!!!!!..... got THE most disgusting taste in my mouth????? Been packing like mad but there is no way in hell am I burning up 495 cal and hour moving boxes so only entering the odd hour or so.......oh and did I mention my weight is going UP

Ever get the feeling the fates are conspiring against you.............

Not to be rude, but it sounds like life.

It's not easy, for any of us. You have to work hard and push through the issues, and just remember: failing or sliding on a single day, or week, or MONTH even, doesn't have to stop you. Push it behind you, and keep going.

Take a deep breath and concentrate on today. One day at a time! Do what you can today and let tomorrow worry about itself. What exercise can you do today? If you are hungry, eat something healthy. If today is a bad day just be thankful that there is only 24 hrs. of it. And of course if you are a Christian, pray. My favorite bumper sticker reads "If it's worth worry about, it's worth praying about."

    Good luck!:flowerforyou:

fate does conspire. Have you ever noticed that when you are craving something....the tv or the radio has nothing but food commercials????That wonderful TOM bloats us, starves us and makes us tired, cranky and positive that with every second we are getting bigger and fatter than we are. BUT- you are still aware of what you are eating and how your are exercising. Even with all your stress- YOU are doing it! You are in control. You are not enjoying it...but you are doing it!! I am impressed!

The antibotics can leave a bad taste in your mouth - like metal?

This too shall pass and you'll be through the hard stuff and back to normal soon enough. keep your chin up.

First, focus on fat loss and don't worry so much about the scale! TOM, muscle gain and water weight are just a few things that can make you heavier. I know there used to be scales in the pharmacy departments of Wal-Marts and most grocery stores, so if you must keep up with your numbers you can check there.
Since your doc has advised you not to break a sweat, try focusing on eating healthy foods, do gentle exercises like stretches and remember that this is a temporary setback! Don't loose sight of your long term goals! Good luck, and I hope you feel better soon.

Stress can make you gain weight, and so can the steroids the Dr gave you. Tom will make you gain water.

Step back, take a deep breath, and start new in a couple of days once all the chaos has lifted. Make good food decisions, while you are moving, but do not focus on losing weight until you are settled.

And when you have a chance take a look in the exercise database and see how many calories you will burn moving boxes. Good luck!!!!

Ok, I will add take a breath just like everyone did, because……well it helps!

One: so what is scale is broken. It helps you obsess less and celebrate NSV more

Two: go ahead and get that house packed ASAP. Moving packing is a category. Burn those calories and keep yourself on track.

Three: now that you have exams you have a reason to run. Running makes you feel better psychologically. (if you force me I will look up how, but it does). So go for a run, clear your mind to help you study and trim your waist line at the same time.

Starving: you shouldn’t be, make sure you are eating enough calories. Working out more your body may demand more. And while I won’t use here to debate whether eating back your calories is right or not, I am firm believer in eat if you are hungry. Just keep it healthy, especially while you are stressed. You need nice distress foods, that give you energy: almonds, fish, broccoli, bananas & blueberries.

Fate IS conspiring against you………it’s teaching you strength, which you will no doubt need to lose weight.
