Hi, i am 5ft 4 and i look best at 145-150. I tend to lose too much in the face if i am under that goal. I am new to calorie counting. Some say 1500 and some say 1700. That's quite a range. I tried 1500 calories and i was starving. I normally do weight watchers but have plateaued for a year. Need to get this last 20 off. I do not eat back exercise calories and i workout 4 times a week. Plus i don't sit all day...but i don't run marathons either!

Try for 1600 on a daily basis and for those days that you are starving allow yourself to go a little higher. When I was losing my last 25 lbs I upped my cals to around 1800 -- took quite a while to lose the weight (6 1/2 months - lost my first 25 in 10 weeks) but it felt easy. I was eating enough that I didn't feel hungry or deprived.
