How to avoid eating so much in the evening and weekends

So, when I am at work, I do AMAZING on my calories. I eat what I am supposed to and when. When I get home, the struggle is real and sometimes my cravings are out of control. At first I thought maybe I was eating too little calories at work so I increased that but I still would come home and overeat. At this point it seems I either go to bed with my tummy growling or I overeat and nearly surpass my calorie goal for the day. On the weekends, all I can think about is ordering a pizza and eating the whole thing while binge watching netflix episodes (especially now that Friends is on there) What are some tips that help you guys with that?

I don't have my fave junk food easily available. I snack on hard boiled eggs, fruits and yogurt always handy. I also drink a lot of water and tea. I tend to stay distracted as well ...play with my kid, fold clothes while watching tv, paint my nails ...that sort of thing0

Honestly you have to make the decision to stop eating.
I pre-log my days, so I know exactly what's going in my mouth at/after dinner. I don't vary from that. Maybe you should try something similar? If I feel hungry after my day is done, I drink a glass of water or go for a walk, or do a bit of yoga.0 -
I totally understand. I have the same problem but when I do really well at moderation and self control for a few weeks, it helps curve cravings. Especially if you allow yourself those things just throughout your everyday life and fit them into your calorie goals, you will find out whether it is or isn't worth it to you to have it again within the calories the next day, and it should satisfy your craving. For me my thing is reeses and pizza. Every once in while a girl just needs her pizza and candy and Netflix nights lol. And that's fine! Just put in a good workout or eat lighter that day so you can indulge and still be within your goals! It doesn't have to be like a "cheat" or binge or whatever for you to enjoy those things. But you'll feel way better about yourself the next day if you had it and Enjoyed it for real, and didn't just scarf it all down. And just remember, if you want to like set aside a meal/day or two every once in a while to just eat whatever, that's fine and lot of people do that (including myself) to let loose and stay on track in the long run, great! That might work for you. But you have to remember that just because it isn't being logged or you just wanted it SO BAD and you're eating so much, it is ALL still calories and it your body will still turn the excess into fat. So if you're okay with that, go for it!! If you're not, then just try to work it into your life or designate rare occasions for splurging over your calorie goal. But try to log it anyways so you have an idea of how much you consumed. Don't just eat mindlessly. Whew that was a lot of random babbling but I hoped it helped somehow...!!0

You could eat very light during the day and reserve majority of your calories for the evening. You could also save some calories every day and consume them on the weekend, i.e. focus more on your weekly calorie goal than your daily and allot your calories for the times you want to eat the most.
I find it's better to work with when I tend to want to eat, rather than force myself to eat in ways and at times that aren't.
Also, spend your calories on food you like to eat, don't waste calories on BS you have to choke down.

You say you overeat and nearly surpass your goal, but if you aren't surpassing, you aren't overeating, so I guess I'm a bit confused about that statement.
I tend to save a lot of calories for the evening because I like to snack when I relax in the hour or two before bed. I also try to eat a little under during the week, so on Fri or Sat I can take a break from food prep and order pizza or chinese or indulge in lake food if it's a lake weekend.0 -
Don't allow yourself to get to that point. Track your calories closely during the day so you know what you have to work with at night. Even better - pre-log dinner and stick to it. And for heaven's sake...please eat what you crave every now and then. Not only is it okay but it helps. Finally, being hungry is not necessarily a bad thing. Everything in moderation.0

Assuming your goal is realistic, which if you're that hungry, maybe it isn't and needs to be reevaluated...
Log it and measure it out first. Then go eat it.
What, you're already out of calories? Then don't eat it. The end.0 -
If I have junky snacks around, I eat them. Get rid of the scary foods and stock up on veggies, nuts and lean proteins. Meatless marinara and spaghetti squash, roasted veggies, chicken breast, turkey chili are all filling and won't break the bank. Sometimes when I feel hungry, I take a walk or hop on the exercise bike. I have a cup of unsweetened almond milk which gets rid of the hunger pangs and is only 30 calories. I have lost almost 40 lbs in 5-1/2 months. You CAN do this! Of course, some pizza or bacon from time to time takes away the pain, lol.0
