I recently started workout out at a gym. I want to know how to lose weight/fat while also getting toned.
I want to lose weight in my arms (triceps), stomach, and thighs (I have naturally thick thighs but want to lose some of the extra)
But at the same time I want all of those areas to be tone.
I want to lose the weight first because if I just try to tone them now, I'll be big (muscle wise) and that's not what I want. I want to be slimmer yet toned.
Any suggestions? Thanks !!

It depends on what you mean by 'toned'. If you mean, revealing muscle that you already have, eat at a deficit to lose fat and lift. If you mean losing fat while gaining muscle, that's a bit more problematic because those two goals work at cross purposes.
If you are new to lifting, I would go with option 1 - eat at a deficit and lift. You might surprise yourself with some noobie gains (I did) and at the very least, you will maintain some of the muscle you already have.0 -

Thanks so much, do you have any suggestions for weight lifting excersizes for this particular option? For a beginner? I'm not really tiny so I can lift a decent amount.
