edited November 16 in Health and Weight Loss
I am a 53 yr old female, 5' 2.5 " and 157 lbs. I started earlyJan at 163 and lost the first couple of weeks and now nothing. I eat 1500 to 1600 c a day and measure and weigh everything. I exercise 1 hr or more everyday (elliptical, walking, strength training). I lost a few inches at the beginning and now nothing...am I eating too much? Not enough? Should I go on 1200 c a day and not exercise? I am so frustrated! I eat back half the calories as I know MFP and machines over estimates....

If you are not losing then you are eating too much. However two weeks of no noticeable change is not enough to freak out about because of normal weight variation. Look for a downward trend over a period of time (at least a month). If you don't see it reevaluate your logging methods.

Your calories out must be less than your calories in....which one has changed?

You eat 1500-1600 + exercise or does that include the exercise calories?

I did try to only take in 1200 for a couple of weeks...not eating back exercise calories but that didn't work either.

Just make your calories out more than your calories in. It's rather simple. The biggest problem is tracking your calories in (although it's not really that hard and just a matter of due diligence).

Weigh and log your food. That's critical. Without that you have no idea what the 'in' part of the equation is.
