Question about Herbalife

Let me start off by saying that I am interested in trying Herbalife and possibly becoming a distributor. So I have read a lot of good about Herbalife and some bad but then again what company doesn't have bad reviews?
My question is, has anyone here tried it and can it really be good or bad for the health?
And I am not talking bout good or bad experience with Herbalife distributors, I am simply asking how is it really for the health? Thanx

    I did the Herbalife shakes a long time ago as part of a low-carb diet. Of course the diet failed and I had no energy, but I remember the shakes were less than palatable. As far as nutrition, I'd just read the labels and do some comparison work.

    Do you want to do this forever? If not then why start? CICO.

    The claims they make are not supported. You have probably read a lot of good about them from people with a vested interest.

    You know what's healthy? Eat a good balanced diet comprising primarily, but not necessarily only, of whole foods.

    My opinion is to just eat lower calories to lose weight and save the money instead of spending it on expensive shakes meant to make distributors and really upper level workers more money off your "health".

    Just say "no"!

    Why would you be considering becoming the distributor of a prodcut you don't know about?

    I'll be putting in * when mentioning herb*life or pl*xus and the ilk. The more times they are mentioned the higher up the Google ladder they travel...

    I was on Herba*life for a few months. Didn't have a problem the first month really but then I started to get anxious and was sensitive to noise and light and my heart rapidly started beating. I decided stop and went through some major withdraw symptoms. It was horrible. I am now just exercising and eating healthy and I am finding success

    BAD company designed to make a very FEW people rich on the backs of MANY MANY folks in need.

    And crappy products that are NOT good for you or anyone else.

    Do you really want to sell your family and friends crap?

    LOL at posting here and not just basing your decision on a basic google search.

    can it really be good or bad for the health?
    Yes, it can be really bad for the health.
    It's an MLM scam, and their products have been tied to the death of some users, as well as
    leaving others with severe liver damage.
    .
    Run the other way: Herbalife has been correlated to Liver damage in some individuals:

    "Acute liver injury induced by weight-loss herbal supplements"
    http://www.ncbi.nlm.nih.gov/pmc/articles/PMC3004035/

    "Severe hepatotoxicity following ingestion of Herbalife nutritional supplements contaminated with Bacillus subtilis"
    http://www.ifik.unibe.ch/unibe/medizin/ifik/content/e7961/e8166/e8582/e8618/bacillus_subt_herbalife_ger.pdf

    "Prolonged intrahepatic cholestasis and renal failure secondary to anabolic androgenic steroid-enriched dietary supplements"
    http://www.ncbi.nlm.nih.gov/pubmed/19238093

    "Association between consumption of Herbalife nutritional supplements and acute hepatotoxicity"
    http://wws.weizmann.ac.il/immunology/elinav/sites/immunology.elinav/files/2007_elinav_j_hep.pdf

    Recommend eating real food and watching your calories using the MFP website.
    Also have a look at the links on this page: http://www.mlmwatch.org/04C/Herbalife/herbalife00.html

    And here's where you can search MFP for any key word: http://community.myfitnesspal.com/en/search

    As I mentioned earlier somehwere in a post that has mysteriously disappeared.

    Do not think of things like a DIET - it gives it the prisoner theory where your shackled into foods you may not even like and you sit there at the dinner table, at the breakfast table and at your desk for coffee break, day dreaming about the nice food you really wanna enjoy!

    The secret is much more simple than believing in some HYPE company like Herbalife who have actually been unuder the microscope of business ehtics as of late. Resist the temptaption to buy into the hype. It will only distract you and move your further from your goal.

    Just train smart and train fierce like a dog! Add more cardio and burrrrrrn calories start at a swimming speed, or slow indoor cycling speed or slow running speed (NO WALKING) I want you to push those limits if you wanna be FREE!

    I personally do alot of cardio and weight lifting about 2-3 times per week - I come home and I get to eat smart choices but on a day where I feel depressed I will go ahead and mash on a bag of marshmallows and chocolates to lift my spirits and rememeber my inner child HAAHAH

    But seriously, push away from company's like Herbalife and Atkins. Just burn more calories than you take in and make smart choices - you'll save money to buy that new pair of shoes in the store like a fresh pair of Nike kicks. Boom.

    I usually have no idea what acronyms mean, and yeah it annoys me when people use them!

    The above however I do know, having learnt them on here and many Google searches...

    CICO= Calories In, Calories Out.

    QFT= Quoted For Truth.
    I have no idea why people use this.
    I read it the first time :wink:

    MLM= Multi Level Marketing

    dem J's I'm assuming are the pair of shoes pictured....

    OP is a very common one, and probably the only one I use, along with cico. Yes because I'm lazy and couldn't be bothered typing out the whole thing.
    congrats you outed me as a hypocrite :tongue: :+1:

    Last I looked using acronyms =/= lazy.

    I like to think of it as more efficient.
