Hi- I've been working out for about a year or so now.. 30-40 min of heavy lifting 20 min of cardio after each session. I AM seeing progress... but I'm not sure if I should be seeing more.

Currently weighing in at 117- I have no way to calculate my body fat..

How do I know if I should bulk or maintain?
also... more protien than carbs?
Please help, thank you!

I think the first question is if you are happy with the way you are now. What are your motivations and your goals?

Yes, I am happy where I'm at. But I would like to see more definition in my muscles..

More definition comes from lifting.. Go up in weight and switch up your exercises.

    Not accurate......

Lifting will help you to build more muscle mass.....Eating at a caloric deficit will help you achieve a body fat percentage that will show off your muscles.

what is your lifting routine like? Are you doing an actual program or just going in and doing whatever? Is it progressive?

I don't think you want to bulk...people who bulk generally know when/if they want to bulk. Bulking requires eating at a surplus of calories to most efficiently and effectively add muscle mass. You have to eat and you have to train.

It sounds to me like you just need some re-comp work. i would suggest doing an actual, structured program and eating around maintenance. A structured program is going to garner you far more results than just willy nilly doing whatever for 30 minutes. Plan on spending about an hour in the weight room...challenge yourself and progress.

Muscle definition comes from a low body fat %. If you are already at a low %, then increasing your muscle size would make them more apparent and visible. You are 117lbs, how tall are you? Do you feel like you are pretty lean already?
