I feel guilty! Just had 2 toasted cheese and devon sandwiches. Don't know why, just lack of self control I guess.

Log it and move on. 1 meal will not destroy you. If you feel that bad you can always exercise the calories off:)

Exercising away guilty calories is a very bad weight loss plan. First, it's not sustainable long term. You *cannot* out-exercise a bad diet--the physics of amount of calories burned is just not favorable. Second, as a repeated pattern it can contribute to compulsive exercise. If OP is already feeling guilty about eating one meal, it's probably not a good idea to head further down that path.
Additionally, the "quote" you offer is a reworked version of a pro-ED slogan. Subbing in "health" for skinny doesn't change that. Toasted cheese and devon sandwiches, in fact, can absolutely be part of "health." I'd argue that the ability to have and enjoy treats without punishing yourself is a crucial part of "health"--physical and mental.
OP, it happens. It's great practice for the rest of our lives, because there will be days we eat birthday cake or are hungry when there are donuts in the break room or have an extra beer at ballpark. We practice saying, "Dang, that was good," logging it, and getting back to the kinds of things we usually eat.0 -

It happens. A lot of people grow up with twisted ideas of a relationship between food, weight, weight loss/gain, and morality.
The question (for those of us who *do* experience that phenomenon) is, how do you fix that. Running out to burn off calories you feel bad about is not a long-term solution. Eating 800 calories a day of kale and nothing else is also not a long-term solution.0 -
Thankyou, I appreciate your comments and encouragement. I was also hoping other people could just share how they're feeling, whether that's happy, sad, proud, frustrated, whatever. Sometimes just good to say how you feel and why if you like.
Anyway, right now I'm feeling tired.

That sounds like a mini binge. Log it, learn from it and move on.
I've learned after many binges (small or large) how empty and unsatisfied it leaves me feeling. I can now catch myself and make that quick decision that the calories aren't worth spending on that food. When they are worth it, I enjoy it to the fullest and work it into my calorie goal by adjusting other meals.

This past Monday was my birthday and we spent the weekend celebrating with all kinds of junk I shouldn't have had. The week leading up to my birthday, I had lady problems and didn't work out ALL week and ate a bunch of junk! It wont set me back though, I am going to get back on track and continue this journey I just try to remember how bad I feel when I mess up, so I can use that to fuel my self control (which I have very little of lol) Best of luck! I've got a "cheat" day planned for this Saturday. I'll eat above my maintenance number a bit and drink several beers. I'll add an extra workout this weekend, enjoy the splurge, and go back to my new lifestyle. Some cheat days are within maintenance days, and some aren't, but both are planned, logged, enjoyed, and overcome.0

even at the end of the day on a 4200 calorie bulk, hungry..sucks but what can ya do0 -

I've never understood 'cheat days'. That word is just odd to me the way it's used so often on here when one is simply making a choice to eat at maintenance for the day. It would seem the word 'cheat' is something that is thought of negatively from the past and comes across as shameful. In our minds I mean... like a diet mentality 'cheat' ... like who exactly are we cheating? lol
I've heard 'treat day'... now that sounds like a positive word to me. I just would hate for someone to feel they are doing something wrong simply because they are enjoying a nice meal at maintenance for the day. shrugs... Guess we all think of it differently.0 -
