I have started a meal plan this week from this website: http://custommealplans.co/
It costs about £65/$99 and you complete a questionnaire about your habits, dislikes and lifestyles before they said you in - so they can take into account that you have a busy working life.
I'm only 3 days into the plan so still very new to it, but I'm finding it easy to follow and already I have noticed changes in my diet that I didn't think were possible (I used to live on sugar and my intake over the past 3 days has reduced dramatically!).
I haven't followed any other plans to compare it to but I would recommend regardless. One of my friends (she introduced me to it) is half way through and finding it very effective. She is using it for muscle gain whereas I am for weight loss - they tailor it depending on your requirements!
Good luck with whatever you decide to do.0 -
Thanks for the info!0

I also am wanting to meal plan. I actually did a little this wk and really think it will make eating good so much easier but just have to make myself get a plan going. This wk I prepped up some of Jamie Eason recipes. Do you do any protien powders? Add me if you like and maybe we can share ideas if you gave an open diary. I started strenght training this yr but doing all at home not at gym but I feel so much better already!!0

Eat what you always do, only less, at a deficit.0

Find what you want to eat, and then prepare it.
If you plan on meal prepping it should be pretty darn easy to plan your meals for 3-4 days at a time. Go ahead and think of what you want to eat. got it?
Okay, now pre-log your meals into MFP. Do they fit your goals? If not, adjust snacks, portions, etc. accordingly.
Now buy your ingredients and cook them. Fill tupperware and plastic baggies with your meals. Now lay them out and refridgerate.
meal plan complete.
Bonus: There's no point in eating someone else's meals and recipes if you aren't going to maintain eating them indefinitely. Find and eat the things you enjoy (in the right portions) and you'll be on track to maintain your awesome loss once you reach your goal!0 -
Just some follow up on my earlier post in this thread - I have lost 5.5lb this week on this plan. I am eating well in excess of what I would usually trying to lose weight with standard calorie counting. I've also started to eat and enjoy things which I wouldn't have tried without the suggestions on the plan.
But I totally agree with rainbowbow's first point - prep seems to be the key.0 -
She said cheap!
OP, just decide what you would like to eat for the diverse meals, google recipes if you need to, buy the ingredients you'll need. Make sure you get some fruit and vegetables, fish or meat, some starch every day, and try something new from time to time. Enter into MFP and adjust to calorie and macro goals. That's all the plan you need. You are not helpless.0 -
i like to do a lot of bulk cooking. rice, slow-cooker chicken, soups, beans, etc. there are a lot of recipes on budgetbytes.com that are nutritious and affordable, and many freeze well.
as far as a specific meal plan, i just try and have a serving or two of fruits and vegetables at every meal, and i try and go for them for snacks as well.0 -
