800-1000 calories for 3 days on...........and days "off" are only 1500 calories? I hope you are female....certainly not enough for a guy.
Why not just eat food you like and log it? That way you can learn about your actual eating habits.

The military diet, by definition, is a short-term crash diet to help people lose weight quickly so they can join the military. It has nothing to do with the actual military, and it's not meant to be a lifestyle change, which is what long-term weight loss requires. I hope that you can still maintain your loss once you start eating like a normal person again. No sarcasm.0

Im in army jrotc, and im very high on the ht/wt percentage and im short of 85% on most physical test challenge events. Its pretty insane, im the s-3 so i log in everyone's test results and 85 on everything is ridiculously hard, if you can, youre awesome! Good luck in weight loss and fitness!0

The same diet is also called the *insert reputable hospital* name or Cardiac diet and is billed as a diet that patients are given to lose weight quickly before a surgery. Except that none of the hospital's who's name are used actually use it.

Ugh military diet. I will try to refrain from being rude but this is a fad diet. Everyone I know, including those in person and my ftiends on here, either gave up or gained itall back shortly after. It is not sustainable.0

I did the military diet several times and have lost the weight very well. ( I also know a couple who has too) I was stuck on a number and couldn't get off and this diet jumped started the weight loss. I did it a few weeks in a row. I continued to remain on 1200 calories a day for awhile dropping more weight and feeling much better. Then....my DR. started me on 1 anxiety med and 1 anti-depression med to counteract side affects from a medication I must take for a chronic illness. Now 6 months later and 25 pounds heavier and (after anger, crying and frustration and a messed up metabolism from medication) I am taking control back of my life. I had DR step me down off the new meds and i am completely off now. I will start this diet again to jump start the weight loss and continue 1200 calories a day to keep losing. This can work well for you but you have to be consistent in eating well when you are not on it...that is really the key! I wish you the best .0

Please don't do this, or any other fad diet, or any other super low calorie diet, or any other super restrictive diet.0

I did this diet right before weigh in time. I was in the USAF. I lost weight for the weigh in but at the time I may have only been 5 to 10 lbs over weight. I think it is a good way to kick start a diet. Its like intermittent fasting.0

This diet was bloody stupid when it came out in the 80's and it is bloody stupid today. I can't believe people still fall for this crap.0
