Today is the first day of the rest of my life.
I have decided to eat healthier shift the weight and enjoy a new healthy lifestyle.
I am a serial junk eater and i want to stop this.
So i'm looking for healthy snacks that are fullfilling.
I had 2 apples today ' realise it was high in sugar.
What snacks do you recommend?
Thanks for your help.

I like to snack on fruits and veggies, carrots and crackers with hummus, celery and peanut butter, cheese and crackers, a smoothie, yogurt and granola, nuts, handful of tortilla chips with mashed avocado...those are some of my favorites.

Hummus (preferably homemade) - in moderation and NOT served with pita bread... try carrots and celery instead.

    Oatmeal

Low fat yogurt/vanilla yogurt with mixed fruit

    Homemade smoothies/shakes/juice

A boiled egg... or 2 (although there's cholesterol.)

    Nuts - again, in moderation

A huge salad (whatever you like - cucumbers, tomatoes, arugula, spinach, romaine lettuce) with vinegar or lemon and 1 tablespoon of olive oil. You can even add a little parmesan cheese if you enjoy a good lemon/parmesan dressing.

Guacamole - made with 1 avocado... but no to the tortilla chips.

A thin slice of prosciutto or ham with a part-skim mozzarella string cheese with 3-4 olives.

Summer is coming, so... homemade/fruit popsicles. ;)

    Pickles

Vegetables (carrots, celery, cherry tomatoes, bell peppers) served with a bit of ranch (made with nonfat buttermilk and light mayonnaise.)

I think one thing that is helpful is to sort of look at what you like to snack on, and switch them out for healthier options. One of my favorite snacks is air popped popcorn (no butter, and just a little bit of salt) and that has like 30 calories a cup. I also like carrots dipped in salsa (weird, I know), or I'll get plain greek yogurt and mix in cut up fruit (so that cuts out a lot of the added sugar thats in the fruit flavored yogurts).

Don't get obsessed over the sugar in your fruit. Be mindful of added sugars, as the foods are usually high cal. But, a 60cal apple, you're golden.
