has anyone on here tried herbalife? Does anyone recommend it? I have friends on Facebook who are doing it and they swear by it but then when I read reviews I hear the opposite... Any thoughts?

It's a fad, takes your money, and does not give you anything that eating real food in moderation can't give you.
How much are your trying to lose?0 -
It's a mlm scam. The people who rave about it are the ones selling it. Its a joke. There is no quick fixes. Hard work can't be replaced with magic shakes and pills. If that was the case, we would all be thin. Don't waste your time or money on any of that stuff0

Meal replacement shakes don't teach you anything about portion control, and calorie counts of foods you like. To lose weight and keep it off you should be looking to make some lifestyle changes. That's why logging food is so important. Yes it can be a pain, but I have learned so much about my eating habits.....tools I will need at maintenance.0

well expensive. you can get far better products at a 3rd the price. Best just to hit your macros and if you want a shake have a protien one :-)0

Take what you normally eat. Cut it by half. If you don't lose weight. Cut that amount by half.
boom. Science'd it all for you.0 -
Before you buy, try doing a search for Herbalife on this site and read some of the threads. I think that will probably change your mind!

I'm looking to lose 80. 60 to start but 80 for my ultimate goal. I'm having problems though and having type 1 diabetes doesn't help...0

I lost weight on it, but I wasn't happy while I was on it, which is why I gained the weight back. It's heavily processed junk in powder form, and isn't nearly as fun as making healthy meals.0

I figured it was a scam but when you're in that mindset of wanting to lose it so bad, anything sounds good0

Basically anything anyone tries to sell you on weightloss is a scam. Go into it with that mindset.
It's all about burning more calories than you ingest. As long as you keep yourself in a deficit, you will lose weight, period. You don't need a fancy shake, or pill, or to only eat kale... you just need to not eat more calories than what you burn off through daily activity.
It really is that simple.0 -

Herbalife won't help you. Oh, it will make you lose..... MONEY! your wallet will be a lot lighter by the end.
It may take a while to work out what your caloric needs are, that will be influenced by many things, but when you find your deficit and consistently eat at that level, you will lose weight.0 -

I know how you feel, I've been there too but you just have to put in the work needed and you'll lose weight. Get a food scale , eat at a deficit , log everything accurately and you'll lose weight. That's all that's needed . no pills or shakes

Well, being diabetic, I'm sure you have learned from your health professionals what types of foods are best for you, as well as how many carbs to eat. It's still calories in/calories out, but with medical conditions it takes a bit more work and patience to find your calorie number.
Also, if you're diabetic, I wouldn't think it's a good idea to take any meal replacement drink.
Finally, I suggest weighing your food, logging everything you eat, and logging exercise calories (but only eat half back if you get your estimates from the gym machines, MFP, phone Apps, or the internet because these numbers are overestimated).
Trial and error is the name of the game.0
