I eat eggs everyday, mostly hen eggs but also duck eggs (which are delicious cooked over-easy in grass-fed butter). I found this ranch near me that sells them, quail eggs too which I haven't tried yet, but I will

Although eggs are no longer supposed to be the devil, still it is not a food completely "safe" to consume in large amounts, also depending on what else your diet includes. This is one of the points where most drs and medical sites seem to disagree with many of the posters on this site.
As the Harvard site mentions "research doesn’t give the green light to daily three-egg omelets. While a 2008 report from the ongoing Physicians’ Health Study supports the idea that eating an egg a day is generally safe for the heart, it also suggests that going much beyond that could increase the risk for heart failure later in life"

That was a very poorly controlled cohort study which only showed an association b/w over 7 eggs per week and heart failure. Causality was never proven.
And such dietary studies are worse than useless anyway. That's because when the population has been told that "eggs are unhealthy" for decades, then people who do not eat many of them are also probably living an overall healthier lifestyle than those who eat tons of them.0 -

I eat the whole egg. The only time I do egg whites is when I really want to bulk up my whole eggs but can't afford the extra calories of more whole eggs.0

Only issue is too much nitrogen from the protein but as long as youre not incredibly above what your protein needs are daily then they shouldnt be too much harm!0

Whole eggs are a marvelous source of nutrition! not only protein, but a great source of choline which helps preserve brain function.0

I have found I can still consume a fair bit a volume by adding in the egg white without losing to much- I can't do plain egg white- but I also can't eat 6 full eggs- to many calories.
So splitting it half and half has become a pretty good answer for me.
And yes- I throw my egg yolks away- the egg whites in the stores are 6$ for a container equivalent of 14 egg whites. 2 dozen eggs are only 4.99.
not really hard to do the math on that one.

I have to ask for those of you eating 4 eggs a day, how many dozen eggs are you buying at once?? My husband has an egg a day and I usually have a couple per week, I buy one dozen at a time. I can't imagine having 6 dozen eggs in my fridge for the week. that's insane, plus they are usually so expensive!0

Everyone who has ever eaten an egg has died, or likely will in the future, therefore, eggs=very dangerous.
Personally, I eat around two dozen a week, whole eggs only. I love them so much I have my own chickens and ducks just so I can have good eggs, because store bought eggs, comparatively speaking, suck. Eat all the eggs.

WAT. Gurl, they rippin you off. I paid 2.99 last week for a quart sized carton of whites. Although...whole eggs here are 4.99 for ONE dozen. Maybe they're ripping me off?
Anyhoo, I use the whites for omelets, sometimes enriched with a whole egg if I'm on a big workout day...PLUS I eat 2 or 3 whole hard boiled eggs a day some days on top of that. Because delicious.
Protein is the macro I struggle to meet. I really don't feel good after eating massive portions of meat (and weighing has taught met that 100g is massive for me and meat) and eggs and greek yogurt really help me to hit my numbers!0 -
Pretty much all the above...with the caveat of as long as your friends and family aren't turned off by the egg farts...0

Wait what? Nitrogen from protein? You’re going to have to explain that. As a lifter eating cca 130g protein per day, I imagine I should’ve died of nitrogen poisoning or something. Also, there are only about 7g of protein in an egg.
OP, I go through phases where I’ll eat 3 extra large egg lunches every day for a week. I also sometimes crack a whole egg into a hot cup of milk before bed. I seriously love eggs more than I can say. My bloodwork has always been perfect.0 -

I eat two egg whites every morning. I don't really like the yolk (yeah I know crazy) but I do love the whites.0

I am all for eating lots of eggs, but personally I find that they usually fit my macros better if I stick to 2 yolks and just eat the whites if I want more protein than that. Everything in moderation but I think a few eggs a day is probably no big deal.0

Only if they're hard-boiled..they can be rather, er, unpleasant for those in your general vicinity if you've eaten a lot of them
Otherwise, what everyone else is saying...eggs aren't the devil but as always moderation is a good thing..0 -

I'm one of the few who has to watch my overall dietary cholesterol but I can still enjoy the occasional Sunday morning bacon and eggs for breakfast if I want it. All things in moderation I guess

3 egg kimchi omelette most mornings, and I feel healthier than when I was eating breakfast cereal. I have a flock of laying hens, so I have had up to 14 dozen in my fridge at one time!0

I recently started having just 1 with 2 serves of egg beaters. The extra 130 calories saved each day makes a difference.0
