ive seen and heard a few people that really like them, "they really make me feel like working out!"
Does anyone here have any experience with pre workout drinks they loved/hated? What did you like or hate?
Do you think they're really needed or just another weight loss scam for money?
TIA!

Do you mean energy drinks like Red Bull and such?
I don't know that I've ever heard of a pre-workout drink that touts weight loss benefits.
I find the only energy drink that does anything for me are the ones that contain Taurine; I get a lot of energy but the crash is horrid.
About the only thing I drink is Nuun which is added to water.

I tried a few, they gave me insomnia because I used to work out after work and the ones I tried had a large dose of caffeine. Most of the ones off the shelf, especially the ones that say "proprietary blend" in the ingredients are just full of fillers and charge you like $40-60 or more for some caffeine and creatine which you can buy separately for $10.00. If you want to try a prework workout, I highly suggest making your own. That way you know what's in it, and know you have effective doses of the supplements you want. It's also way cheaper.

A cup of coffee is just as effective.

they give you a great caffeine hit, help you stayed focused during your workout, and (depending on which you get), give you an awesome pump.
I used C4 mixed with an energy drink, or when I run out of C4, mix my own.

Having said that, if you're starting out, you don't want to take any.. In MY opinion, you want to know where your strength level is at before you introduce substances that'll help you through your workout.

As the above poster said, a cup of coffee will work, and a banana/bowl of oats about 2 hours before lifting will be beneficial also.

I agree with the cup of coffee. However, since you asked about pre workout drinks, check out Athena V2.0 made by Unico Nutrition. The flavors taste good and it's made without artificial colors, flavors, no fillers, ect.

I like Spark. Doesn't give me caffeine jitters like a lot of others did.
