I started getting serious about my health about 3 years ago. This is near my highest weight ever, while on vacation (wearing size 28 pants):

Like many people, I don't have many pictures of myself at that weight, because it was easier to believe that I was doing alright, without photographic evidence.

It took me over a year, but here is down about 60 pounds:

Then I got a new work coat as a gift (the red one on the right). It was a men's XL. The blue one on the left is a size 3XL, and it was a little tight at my heaviest:

This is 70 pounds lost:

This is 80 pounds gone:

This is 86 pounds:

This is 88 pounds gone, and after I bought a mountain bike:

This is now, at 90 pounds gone, and after 6 weeks of strength training (Size 16 pants, and a size L top):

It hasn't been quick, nor has it been easy, but boy has it been worth it!

Please ask me questions, and add me as a friend if you like. I don't always log everyday, because I'm more focused on functional fitness now (I just started a learn to run program), but I'd still like to lose another 30 pounds or so. It hasn't been consistent losses either, there have been many plateaus along the way, and there have been times where my clothes have become baggy while the scale stayed more or less the same (like the last 6 weeks), but it has been so worth it! Thank you to everyone who's encouraged me along the way :)

Beautiful! You look amazing. Did you hit any plateaus? Anything you can help with for advice? I've lost 76 lbs and I can not move the scale! Thanks in advance!

Wow, congratulations!! You look amazing. Also, when I started reading your post (without checking your profile first) I initially assumed you were in your 50s... then as I scrolled down I realized, no, maybe 40s... 30s... 20s... seriously, you get younger and younger looking in every shot. Seriously an inspiration!

    Hi!
I have hit a number of plateaus along the way. What I figured out, was that they were mostly caused by poor logging/not logging (make sure you get a scale and weigh your portions!). A few times though, it seemed like by body needed to catch up, so the weight loss would stall while my body shrunk.

I also had to make changes in what I ate. I cut down on refined carbs and potatoes, and really focused on protein. I am most successful when I get 90+ grams of protein a day. I got that from having plain Greek yoghurt at breakfast (with blueberries) and lean cuts of meat.

I hope that is helpful :)

    Haha, thanks!

I was in the US last month, and I was getting IDed. I haven't been IDed in Canada routinely in a long time, probably since I was 27 or so.
