Thoughts on Nutella

@enterdanger, those brownies! Guess I need to pick up some nutella.0

I think it's gross0

This may be unpopular, but I've actually found something that I think is BETTER than Nutella (and I think Nutella is pretty damned good).
For all the Brits out there, go to Tesco and get yourselves a jar of Tesco Bourbon Spread.
It is the EXACT flavour of the filling of bourbon biscuits. Oh my.
I've had the custard cream flavoured spread and the cookie one and those are both delicious. I'll have to look for the bourbon one next time I go!
Personally... I don't like nutella. Anything that tastes even slightly of nuts, I can't stand. Yuck. I do however love plain chocolate spread. And white chocolate spread. And orange chocolate spread. Mmm.0 -
My daughter is deathly allergic to peanuts (and therefore peanut butter)....and she is on the the very petite side. Nutella is a great source of concentrated calories for her. It tastes nice, doesn't cause her any allergic reactions.0

I have shared the goodness of the brownies here at work. They are all cheering.0

Can't have it in my house. F*cking delicious. I'd eat the damn stuff with a spoon right out of the container; I have no control when it comes to Nutella. That, ladies and gentlemen, is why I was the weight I was when starting this jouney! Lol :P0

YUM!!!!
Back in the early 90's I was introduced to Nutella when I went to visit my brother and his family who were living in France at the time. It was not available in the US so they had to bring back a bunch of jars for me when they moved back. Now that it is available everywhere, I hardly eat it.
I work for a French company and they tell me the Nutella in France is different/better so they bring jars of it back to the US with them., lol
I have never really liked it, so don't understand the fuss.

I have about 1 tablespoon a week. Honest. I use 1/2 T in my chocolate protein shakes. For 50 calories it makes them soooo good0

I irrationally want to buy those small Nutella snack packs, with crackers and lick out the container. They mock me at the check stands, I see them everywhere!
Sigh. I am not allowed to buy Nutella. My dream is Brad Pitt, and a jar of Nutella.0 -
Nutella .. Mmmm good .. I can have a couple pretzels with Nutella on it to satisfy that chocolate urge ...0
-
Amazing, but I can't be in the same room as it.0

I'm odd because I don't like it. Never have. I like hazelnuts, I like chocolate, I even like whole hazelnuts in chocolate, but as soon as you grind the hazelnuts, I'm just not interested anymore. Praline is also not my cup of tea.0

No fighting going on here....neither of us like it

I only allow myself to indulge on race day mornings as a nice energy-rich breakfast on a baguette or bread roll. If it's an out of town race, my race buddy and I have been known to take the little packets (3-4 each) to the breakfast room the morning of the race and use them for ourselves and watch the other runners going back to the buffet to try to see where we found it!
Otherwise, it's far too slippery a slope. If I want Nutella, I have to sign up, train, and get up at 4am for a race0 -
I know I love it so I avoid it0

I used to love it, but last time I tried it it just tasted like sweetened oil to me I go for Philadelphia chocolate cream cheese now. It doesn't have the hazelnut taste, but I prefer it to Nutella now. I do love hazelnut and chocolate though...0
-
I'm a chocolate, hazelnut, and sugar fiend but nutella is too much even for me.... I mean I dont eat dairy anymore so I wouldn't touch it anyway but just.... eugh. No.0

Have you tried warming your knife.
Really shouldn't have started reading this thread because, guess what? I can hear the Nutella calling.

I like it okay, but I don't love it or anything. I don't buy it because it's too expensive for something I'm not wild about. Almond butter, on the other hand...0
-
Stay away from it. It's full of sugar. Sugar is evil0
