Im 24 year old male who has always been into bodybuilding and weightlifting. Ive always been pretty muscular but never able to break below 17% bf or so. Im finally on track to do so but im concerned im going to need to weigh 140 lbs to finally break out my abs. Im apprx 173 lbs now at about 19% bf. Im still pretty muscular and abs r starting to come out. I see guys my height who weigh 150 lbs at my height and are super scrawny. Question i have is how much will i have to weigh to have 12 to 14% bf? I know its different for every person but would like some encouragment im not gonna be a lightweight haha. Appreciate any answers

Assuming your numbers above are 100% accurate...173 lbs at 19% BF would mean you currently have about 140 lbs of lean mass and 33 lbs of fat.
Working backwards, if you neither lose nor gain lean mass (probably not a reasonable assumption, but required to do the math) to be at 14% bf with 140 lbs of lean mass your total weight would need to be about 163 lbs.0 -
About 159lbs-160lbs.
173 * (100-19) = 140.13 lean body mass
140.13 * 1.14 = 159.7
But your abs may or may not show up there. It's different for everyone.0 -

And my math could be off. Just saying.0

why 14%?... i would recommend cutting until you're happy with the results. no reason why you can't get shredded... everyone can!0

If you kept your lean mass, your weight would approximately be 162lbs. at 14%. Again that's IF you retain your current lean mass. You may lose some, so the weight would reduce.

I appreciate all the answers from you guys. I shouldbe just used my brain to figure it out myself haha. Im not neccisarly looking to be 14% just know at that point you tend to look lean generally compared to 20. Just wanna get to the point where im happy with what i look like. My shoulders and arms look great but the fat on my stomach and chest drives me nuts. Its crazy enogh of how much of a turn around its been. I was 200+ a year ago. The veins in my arms are showing more and more everyday. Dieing for bicep vein to actually pop instead of just feeling it. Helps keep me motivated. Thanks again guys0
