There was a thread on MFP a year or so ago about your favorite bourbon. I've always enjoyed bourbon and the thread got me started on trying new spirits.

Had my first Basil Hayden yesterday. My new favorite. Maybe the smoothest I've tried so far.

Gentleman Jack had held my best spot in the bar for a while. I know it's not fancy or exotic but suited my taste as good as any.

What are your favorites?

Basil Hayden is incredibly smooth. Always have a bottle at my bar. Jack Daniel's is my go-to table whisky.

I like Knob Creek, Bakers and Bookers as well.

It's funny, a lot of people think JD is Bourbon, when it isn't.

    I'm a one-bourbon-man-woman & Jim Beam is my man.

My preferred whiskeys of choice are Jim Beam's Red Stag and Jack. I'm a poor college student and don't get to indulge in the more expensive stuff too much. Makers Mark 46 is smooth, Woodford Reserve is worth the extra $10 if you have it, and I just had Wild Turkey Honey for the first time last week, very good. I like just about all bourbons and whiskey I've tried, but for some reason I really don't like any variation of Crown.

I've tried many of those listed. I always thought Jack Daniels was bourbon as well and when I think of may favorites I always include it despite it being Tennessee sippin whiskey.

Gonna add Elijah Craig, Col. E Taylor, Eagle Rare, Bakers and Bulleit to my future tastings.

Four Roses Small Batch is an excellent - excellent! - boutique bourbon whiskey. Seriously, if you haven't tried... find a way!

Yes he did. He knows the difference. Just because a sour mash whisky comes from Bourbon County, Kentucky doesn't make it better than sour mash whisky from Tennessee any more than saying Sparkling wine from Champagne is better than sparkling wine from somewhere else.

Now I think I'll go Xerox something.
