On day 2. I'm tracking every morsel and sip! Each day I've had about 200 or less calories left. I'm feeling a bit unsatisfied and want to snack on something light. Is there a way to search low calorie options here? Any ideas in general?

A bag of orville redenbachers lighter popcorn has 240 calories.

To be honest with you, you can do a lot with 200 calories. Ice cream, some chocolate, protein bar, chips, pretzels...

    What do you like?

I tend to go with crunchy fruits & veggies; one of my favorites is celery boats. The crunchiness sometimes makes you think you're eating more. Really crunchy apples are another favorite. If you like Greek yogurt, put fruit over top some plain Greek yogurt (watch the sugar content in flavored yogurts). A handful of almonds is a good snack too.

I love crunchy things! I also love cheese but I'm afraid it's too many calories.

Laughing cow cheese wedges have 35 calories. I spread them on arnolds bakery lite bread, two slices for 80 calories. With 200 calories, you could use nice bread, or a couple wedges of the cheese instead.

rice cakes, fruit (can serve/dip in yogurt as another suggested), mini candy pieces (I ususally have 2 snickers minis when I'm wanting some chocolate, but you can fit most chocolates in with 200 cal to spare), cereal and almond milk, skinnypop, oats n' honey bar, quest bar, veggie straws (or veggie chips), pickles, cheese stick, crackers and lunch meat, apple and 1/2 serving of peanut butter. There's a lot you can eat with 200 cal. Just depends on what your favorite things to snack on are.

There really is a lot you can do with 200 calories. I had a serving of gelato tonight for 190.

I recommend it. I tried Gelato Fiasco for the first time tonight.

Oooooo...I forgot about laughing cow cheese. That's good stuff. Never thought of cereal. Guess I thought it was "bad" as it is mostly carbs. I was also afraid of peanut butter being "bad" because of fat and sugar. Nice to know it's an option.

Within a balanced diet, no food is really "bad". You have to weigh your peanut butter on a scale though, the calorie count in that is no joke.

I'll look for it when I go. I know we have a couple brands at my grocery, but I can't remember all of them

That's like...a square and a half of dark chocolate! Or PB2 on a slice of 40 calorie bread. Or some raspberries and tea.

Man. I have thought this stuff through way too much.

Love popcorn! I'm allergic to microwave due to the fake butter so I make my own on the stove. I guess I'd have to calculate the calories by amount of kernels used to pop and oil.

Yep, and if you want to make it lower calorie you can air pop it in the microwave in a brown bag as well. I haven't tried it but many popcorn lovers on here do it.

To answer your question you can go to (from the website) to Community and select the Search.

You can put in a search word or criteria (for example: low carb snacks or low calorie snacks.. If the search is not narrow enough you search within a specific forum such as Recipes, or Nutrition and then search within that specific forum. This will bring up other threads where MFP members have shared their recipes or ideas.

For low calorie snacks under 200 calories it will not be much. For example two tablespoon of peanute butter is around 170 to 190 calories (depending on brand). Nuts are crunchy and good but you get about 10 or 20 depending on the nut... You could go with ice cream (fat free/sugar free), 1/2 of yogurt with small portion of fruit, etc., string cheese, and you can do the portion size reccomendation for regular chips, crackers which is around 140 to 160 calories for around 12 - 14 chips etc...

Try to google low calorie snacks (you will get a wide variety from popcorn, hard boiled eggs, etc...).. :):)

    Hope this helps.

Oh my gosh, thank you so much everyone for the great tips. I just want to start properly. I've had way too many failures in the weight loss arena and I'm determined to get it right!

No prob! As long as you weigh it, it fits in your day, and you've come close to your macros for the day-you can't go wrong :)

Thick white farmhouse toast with an egg or egg white scrambled with 10g cheddar = crunchy and cheesy and under 200 calories

100cal mini popcorn bags are the best, quite filling and you have some wiggle room to throw a little parmesan cheese on it! also, a piece of fruit with a glass of milk or a cheese stick is yummy, healthy and satisfying. Kashi bars are a healthy fill as well, and I believe most flavors are under 200cals. However at the end of the day the fruit&dairy combo is your best bet cuz you wanna avoid those complex carbs! Hope this helps ~

In the evenings, when I have 200 cal left over, I do:

    -- a bowl of low-cal yogurt. I've found a brand I like. :)
-- topped with a bit of fruit, a dab of low-cal chocolate sauce, and a swirl of light whipped cream.

    Yummy!!! :)

keep yourself away from sugars as much as you can!
If you still have 200 kcal left at the end of the day, that's good for you ,you will lose weight in a shorter time! It's not absolutely necessary to eat something just because you can, this is a bad habit. Eat only if you are hungry.
