My quick and easy salad dressing recipe is:
2 tbsp. lemon-infused olive oil (or regular olive oil)
1 tbsp. balsamic vinegar
1 tsp honey
shake it up and drizzle on greens0 -
mine is a simple ranch. 1 cup of plain Greek yogurt, 1/4th cup of water. add some hidden valley ranch packet to taste. very low cal. very good.0

Yum! Will try that one. I've been using a mix of olive oil, vinegar (herb or wine), dijon mustard (which emulsifies the mix nicely), and kosher salt and freshly ground pepper. I doubt I'll ever buy bottled dressing again. Homemade is SO much better.0 -
Mash 1/4 of a ripe avocado, add a little salt and pepper and mix with your salad. It's great instead of dressing!0

◾1 teaspoon ground basil or leaves
◾1/4 teaspoon ground thyme or leaves
◾1/2 teaspoon dried celery leaves or flakes
Directions
Mix all ingredients together and store in air-tight container.
ITALIAN SALAD DRESSING:
Mix 2 tbs of this mix with 1/4 cup vinegar, 2 tbs water, and 1/2 to 2/3 cup olive oil or canola oil.

mine is:
8tbsp oilive oil 4tbsp white wine vinegar, 4tsp dijon mustard and 4tsp honey, sea salt and freshly ground black pepper..been making if for the last 7 years. Everyone loves it and it's really easy . the oringial recipe called for 2 crushed and finely chopped garlic cloves which also works well.0 -
How about a simple "ponzu" dressing? Equal measure of soy sauce and lemon juice. Fat free.0

Classic vinaigrette is 3 parts olive oil to 1 part lemon or vinegar. A couple of lower fat alternatives:
Low fat ranch: 1 part buttermilk + 1 part mayonnaise + garlic salt and dried herbs.
Asian: 1 part soy sauce + a part balsamic vinegar + 1 part nut oil (sesame, hazelnut, walnut)
If you like asian salads try googling Vietnamese dressings based on vinegar and fish sauce, or Japanese dressings that are made creamy with purred tofu.0 -

You can use plain canned tomatoes and olive oil for mayo too. Both very good!
Fire Roasted Tomato Dressing
Source: Soup Spice Everything Nice
Makes 2 cups
1 can (14.5 oz) fire roasted diced tomatoes, undrained
1 envelope Italian salad dressing mix
1 Tbsp. cider vinegar
1 Tbsp. light mayonnaise
Place all ingredients in a blender; cover and process until blended.
Nutrition Facts: 2 Tbsp. equals 7 cal., 0.3 g fat, 0.3 chol., 91.4 mg sodium, 1.1 g carb., fiber 0.2 g, protein 0.2 g.0 -
I like 2tsp lemon juice, 1tsp oil, 1tsp dijon mustard and 1tsp capers. Zesty and yummy!0

I don't have exact measurements, but I like to mix spicy brown mustard with splenda and water. When I put it on the salad sometimes I will add curry powder, italian seasoning or mexican spices. My other favorite is olive oil, red wine vinegar and salt and pepper. Yummy! Love salads!0

a few cracks of sea salt and pepper
a squeeze of lemon juice.

juice of one lemon and one lime freshly squeezed
1 teaspoon of Dijon mustard
1 teaspoon of Worechester
2 cloves of garlic minced up
one pinch of sugar
5-8 grinds of Garlic Sea Salt grinder thingy
2 tablespoons of EVOO
4-6 basil leaves minced very tiny
a bit of cilantro minced up.
Whisk it all up. YUM!

I am obsessed w/ Annie's 'Lite Green Goddess' dressing. I seriously love it. Kind of reminds me of a creamy (yet dairy free) caesar. I love caesar salad. Usually I use a caesar yogurt dressing so it's low in fat, but I really think I'm going to start making some of your suggestions!0 -

My husband combined a Korean dumpling dipping sauce with a Thai cucumber salad dressing and came up with this:
Generic - Fish Sauce, 2 tbsp (15 mL) 20 cal
La Choy - Soy Sauce, 1 TBSP 10 cal
Karo - Light Corn Syrup, 1 Tbsp 60 cal
Pc - Pure Seasame Oil, 2 tsp 80 cal
Oil - Olive, 1 tsp 40 cal
Kikkoman - Aji-Mirin Rice Wine, 1 tbsp 35 cal
Seasoned Rice Vinegar, 1 tbsp 25 cal
SUPER salty - the sodium is through the roof but for about 35 calories per tbsp, it is not bad . Subbing low sodium soy sauce and rice vinegar would be a good idea. He and I are both "salt beasts" though we are working on it. we used it in a beef salad - it was delicious (again, really really really salty - right on the edge of too much).0 -

balsamic vinegar, white wine vinegar, olive oil, fresh squeezed orange juice, sweet & hot mustard, S & P. you can play with the ratios. i prefer a strong vinegar taste, so i use more vinegar than oil. the citrus adds a bright and fresh, slightly sweet element. the sweet & hot mustard (from trader joe's) adds some viscosity and sweetness with a little kick (you can sub reg dijon mustard). S&P is always to taste. i made this last night for my roasted red beet, arugula, feta, orange and walnut salad. DELICIOUS!0

Hi everyone. I accidentally made an entire jar of salad dressing (not done it before, went a bit mad!) and I only use a tbsp for each salad (1 a day) so am unlikely to charge through it very fast. How long do you think it will keep in the fridge? It's just lemon juice and olive oil with a bit of balsamic vinegar. Thanks!0

should last a LONG time with the acidity from the vinegar and lemon.0 -
Invest in some high quality vinegar. A really good balsamic (real balsamic is just grape must, not added vinegars, but at the least stay away from the ones with added coloring), vinegar made from white or red wine, or a good flavored vinegar (Acetum Honey Ginger Condiment!) will provide way more flavor and you might not need to mix any oil at all.0
