I've shared my success story before, but just wanted to pop in and say, "hey! I've done this for a full year now! And, it works!"

x2w3y9.jpg

In the last year:
  • I went from 166 lbs to 131 pounds.
  • I went from a size 12 to a size 6.
  • I went from being overweight to a great, healthy weight for my height.
  • I made peace with food and no longer feel obsessed or stressed about it.
  • I have gotten some really kind compliments and encouragement from my doctors.
  • I feel way more calm, balanced, and energetic than I remember in years.
  • I completed three 5ks, 1 12k, and a half marathon in the last year alone.
  • I ran a 25 minute 5k and started placing competitively for my age group.
  • I ran a 7:26 mile (when I started back, I was running 11-12 minute miles!).
  • I can now do 2 strict pull-ups, something I have never been able to do previously.
  • I can now do a few sets of full push-ups (none of this on your knees business).
  • I can hold the crow pose (yoga) for about 10 seconds.
  • I have m
otivated many people around me to make positive changes, too.

I am not sure if it's OK to share this or not, but I actually wrote more of my story, up at my blog. (Not selling anything on this post, promise... but admins, feel free to edit out the url if I'm unintentionally violating something here.)

ETA: I'm 5'6" and 36 year old, mom of 2.

Great post - love that you listed your physical feats and not just your weight loss (which is also impressive!).

At this point it is my fitness goals that are keeping me motivated! A few I've got at the moment...

    1) run a sub 7-minute mile
    2) run a sub 25-minute 5k
    3) 10 unassisted pull-ups
    4) unassisted handstand

    :)

Fantastic journey! You're where I want to be at my 1 year anniversary in August. I have the weight there, but working on my fitness goals and hoping to drop another inch in my stomach. (5'7, sw 169, cw 132, start size 16, current 8, borderline 6) no pull ups here :(

I'm in a similar place, honestly. I feel like my weight is pretty close to where I want it, but I still have some goals for how I'd like my body to shift a bit. (I am still carrying a bit of fat around my back and stomach.) Sounds like we have had a similar journey!
