Why do I gain weight?

Hi everyone!
I've since December been exercing consistently and lost the weight that I wanted to.. I've also started taking my training very seriously (+ diet) and i'm working towards competing in Bikini fitness 2016..
But for some reason I starting to gain back the weight I lost..
I'm not sure if it's my body trying to get back to it's "sweet spot" weight.. Or could it be muscle/watergain?
I can definently see that my muscles have progressed.. but could that really cause a 4-6lbs gain?

If you're bulking, you're going to gain some fat along with muscle too. And obviously water etc. plays its part.0

A = calories in
B = calories out
If A>B then weight gain. If A<B then weight loss. If A=B then maintain weight.0 -
How much are you eating a day?
Do you weigh and measure all your food?
Have you recently upped your training?0 -

I just started carb cycling 4 days ago.. so my macros are
High: 210C/40F/145P
Medium: 175C/45F/145P
Low: 145C/50F/145P
I measure everything! I don't train more, just harder0 -

How do you look and feel?
Last I checked, there isn’t a weigh in before the event. If you’re looking and feeling better, then who cares if you weigh 500 lbs? The obsession with weight is just silly.0 -

How many calories are you eating?
Were you low carb before this?
Increase in exercise can cause some water retention0 -

It depends on the days but around 1600-1800 cal a day
Nope no low carb here
My muscles do look bigger so it's probably water retention0 -

If go with that and just keep and eye on it. Slight change in diet and exercise can cause weird fluctuations.0 -
Water, time of the month, an issue with your scale, some new muscle, inflammation, more food in the digestive track, etc.? Your weight is intended to fluctuate around 5% from week to week to allow you to deal with the world around you and the biology within you. I can take a poop and weigh 2 lbs less. Did I lose weight?
How you look and how you feel. Body composition matters, overall body weight does not.0
