Logging bacon

Hi,
I want to improve my logging accuracy and consistency.
I read that it's better to log meat raw. My bacon package says that it's 230 cals for 54g (2 slices).
But I can't believe that once the bacon is cooked I'm still consuming 230 cals ? Or am I ?
I was wondering how do you log bacon? What entry do you use?
Thanks,

I log it according to the per slice info on the package. I don't weigh bacon. The bacon package I have says "per pan fried slice" or something like that.0

I've always logged my meat cooked... like if I grilled or fried so on and so forth... and 2 slices of bacon is like 80 cals where I'm at lol0
-
You cook off so much fat, I would use a "cooked entry"0
-
Log/weigh your bacon either raw or cooked depending on what the package tells you.0
-
What kind of bacon are you eating? All the packages I've seen are 80 calories for 2 slices. I would be so depressed to eat 2 slices of bacon for 230 calories.
That said, the weight on the package is raw unless it states otherwise. If you really want you can weigh out two slices and see if it really weighs 54g. If so, that's your serving. If not, add more until you get the serving size amount.0 -
Bacon is glorious and calorie free...0

Weigh it in grams0

What kind of bacon are you eating? Most packaging for bacon that I've come across says for "pan fried slices"...I used to use a regular thick cut bacon that was 100 calories per pan fried slice but now I use a thick center cut that is 100 calories for 2 pan fried slices.0 -
I log it raw, by the slice, per package info. I will weigh three or four slices out of the package to get a good sense of how they average (higher than the package states, lower, or pretty close) and might adjust my log a little to reflect that, but otherwise I don't sweat it and don't worry about the fat that renders out.0

where are you guys getting your magical low calorie bacon?! Every package I look at has 220+ cals for 2 slices. I'm in Canada though...0

so is this Canadian Bacon? Bwahahaha! Snort.0

mmm Bacon!0

No, it's not that type of "Canadian Bacon". It's regular bacon, it's just that the info is "raw" so, that's why I was asking.
But, thanks for your awnsers, I think my best bet is to use a "cooked" entry.0 -
Bacon comes in logs?
WHY HAVE I NOT BEEN TOLD ABOUT THIS BEFORE??0 -
There aren't enough pictures of bacon in this thread.0

i wanted to buy some bacon or even turkey bacon and i saw the calories were so high. i am surprised. can anyone tell me a brand that is very low? also i remember having Beef bacon as a kid. i don't even see that in grocery stores any more0

I have switched to Canadian bacon as straight eating bacon, but I use pre-cooked bacon slices for flavoring and in my lunch wraps. 3 slices has 80 calories.0

Look for center cut bacon. It's 70-80 calories per 2-3 slice serving. Hormel, Oscar Meyer, Jimmy Dean, Target brand, and even Aldi sell it.0 -

This is for raw. I use the raw entry if the whole bacon slice, including the fat, is going into my dish (for instance, sometimes I make things (very good things) that involve rendering the fat from bacon, cooking onion in it, then adding the cooked crumbled bacon back in later). Otherwise, just use the database for a comparable cooked option - thick versus thin cut will be the biggest variance, I think.
