if myfitness pal has 1240 calories as what i should be eating, that's in order to lose 1 pound a week right (that's what i put in)? Like that is the 500 calorie deficit?

You can choose how much you want to lose per week -- anywhere from 2 to .5 pounds per week, I believe.

Edit: I didn't read your question correctly. Yes, if you chose 1 pound per week, it gave you the deficit to hit that goal.

With only 10lbs to lose I would set it to .5lbs per week. Just me though...

Thank you everyone! And the 10 pounds is just a general goal. Thank you!
